Job Description
What you get to do in this role:
- Develop disaster recovery plans for critical applications and services.
- Coordinate periodic tests on documented disaster recovery strategies and plans.
- Analyze impact on, and risk to, essential business functions or information systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
- Assess risks to business operations.
- Review existing disaster recovery, crisis management, or business continuity plans.
- Write reports to summarize testing activities, including descriptions of goals, planning, scheduling, execution, results, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Maintain and update organization information technology applications and network systems blueprints.
- Prepare reports summarizing operational results, financial performance, or accomplishments of specified objectives, goals, or plans.
- Prepare operational reports.
- Create scenarios to re-establish operations from various types of business disruptions.
- Attend professional meetings, read literature, and participate in training or other educational offerings to keep abreast of new developments and technologies related to disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
- Organizing, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings.
- Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
- Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings.
- Determining scope changes, developing strategies and undertaking project tasks as required.
- Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.
- Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
- Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution, provide administrative support as needed.
- Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.
- Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objectives.
- Administer infrastructure upgrades, implementations, and integrations.
- Develop and implement IT processes.
- Identify opportunities and own improvements to technologies and IT processes.
- Lead, define, and complete complex IT tasks independently, and lead small projects as needed.
- Manage and be accountable for project completions.
- Acquiring resources and coordinating team members along with third-party contractors.
- Establish team priorities according to business and technical need.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills, including the ability to synthesize information that can be easily consumed by various executive audiences.
- Build proofs-of-concept (POC) for potential new solutions and technologies by working closely with product management and engineering teams.
- Facilitate requirements gathering and process mapping workshops. Perform gap analysis (as-is functionality versus to-be functionality).
- Participate in end-to-end implementation planning including project management, issue management, communication and change management.
- Document and identify ways to improve existing business and technical operations pain points based on process optimization, technology, change management, or communication.
