The Benefits Programs Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day aspects of Company benefit plans and programs including vendor management, compliance, project management and communication. This role ensures company benefit programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports management of existing US benefits programs, including group medical/dental/vision, LOA, Life & Disability, HSA, FSA, commuter, 401(k), and COBRA
  • Ensures company benefit programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations through appropriate audits and reports; monitors changes to State and Federal laws pertaining to benefit plans and programs.
  • Collaborates with HR Operations and other relevant stakeholders to ensure benefits are properly set up in applicable systems.
  • Provides oversight for all employee leaves (FMLA, PLOA, LOA, Workers Comp, etc.) in partnership with leave outsourcer; establishes and monitors systems for accurately tracking and administering time off and leaves of absence.
  • Supports Open Enrollment, which includes, but is not limited to, communications, training, vendor updates, changes, and other related items.
  • Manages Company Wellness initiatives; coordinates and facilitates events, workshops and seminars geared towards improving overall wellness.
  • Manages third party relationships including plan administrators, brokers, carriers, etc.
  • Acts as primary contact for plan vendors and employees for resolution of health and welfare plan questions or issues.
  • Reviews vendor invoices, resolve disputes, and report on fees and costs

Required Skills/Education:

  • Ability to pursue multiple objectives and initiatives, analyze complex issues, and facilitate change
  • Proven track record in administering benefits programs
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of all legal, tax and regulatory issues related to benefits, such as ACA, ERISA, FMLA, PFL and state and federal regulations.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all internal and external customers
  • Demonstrated aptitude in the use of technology
  • Ability to interact with employees of all levels of experience and seniority across the organization and use discretion when dealing with sensitive employee compensation and benefit matters
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Finance, or Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ of relevant work experience, with a minimum 3 years experience in benefits administration
  • Previous vendor management experience including managing to metrics and SLA’s required.
