About Lyra Health

Lyra is transforming mental health care through technology with a human touch to help people feel emotionally healthy at work and at home. We work with industry leaders, such as Morgan Stanley, Genentech, uber, Amgen, and other Fortune 500 companies, to improve access to effective, high-quality mental health care for their employees and their families. With our innovative digital care platform and elite provider network, 2 million people can receive the best care and feel better, faster. Founded by David Ebersman, former CFO of Facebook and Genentech, Lyra has raised more than $480 million.

About the Role

Lyra has developed innovative blended models of coaching and psychotherapy that combine leading clinical expertise with powerful technology.

We are looking for an experienced Psychologist with a passion for treatment development, skills training, and writing to contribute to the development of our Internet CBT (iCBT) psychotherapy program. For this role strong expertise in substance abuse psychotherapy is also required. You will be part of a highly skilled, creative, and collaborative team (including a producer, illustrator, and other clinicians) with an established track record for developing clinically strong and engaging iCBT treatments to support clients in learning therapy skills.

By directly reaching tens of thousands of clients your work on iCBT will help create meaningful positive change on a large scale.

For part of your work time you will also provide video psychotherapy to clients using Lyra’s blended CBT model of care. The direct clinical work with clients will give you direct experience with how providers and clients use the iCBT we create, and will help you identify topics of interest for new modules.

Your work will involve identifying and proposing clinical topics for iCBT modules, writing drafts for new clinical content including storytelling and dialogue, receiving and incorporating feedback on your writing, and reviewing sources of existing content we might consider to license.

Requirements

  • PsyD, PhD level mental health clinician preferred, Masters level considered depending on training and experience
  • Excellent training in and deep understanding of evidence-based treatments (like CBT, DBT, and ACT) including case conceptualization and treatment planning
  • Excellent writer with demonstrated writing experience, passionate about writing on clinical topics
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in providing evidence-based treatments (specifically CBT, DBT, and ACT)
  • Clinical training in and experience with providing substance and alcohol abuse treatment including running groups with clients
  • Clinical training in and experience teaching skills groups to clients (DBT, CBT)
  • Experience working with adolescent clients is a plus
  • Experience providing couples therapy is a plus
  • Embracing the mission of disseminating effective therapy skills to clients on a large scale
  • Comfortable with technology
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment - We move quickly to evolve digital content and tools based on data thus we seek people who are comfortable with constant change, feedback, and improvement
  • Independent, open-minded, non-judgmental, compassionate and flexible
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (communication and listening)

  • This position can be local (onsite in our Burlingame office when that becomes possible) or remote, or a combination (i.e 2 days onsite, 3 days from home).
