Grammarly is continuing to grow our team during the COVID-19 pandemic, conducting fully remote hiring and onboarding processes. All Grammarly team members can work remotely until August 2021. Read more about how we’re supporting our team and communities.

The opportunity

Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect, whenever and wherever they communicate. Every day, 30 million people around the world use our AI-powered writing assistant. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Communications Program Manager to join our Communications team. The Communications Program Manager will oversee Grammarly’s internal communications programs to help team members connect meaningfully with our mission and stay informed about and invested in our path toward Grammarly's vision. They will maintain and continuously optimize our internal communications channels, cadence, and content in support of this goal.

This highly cross-functional role will partner with virtually all functions at Grammarly to create and maintain internal narratives related to Grammarly’s goals and company strategy. With strong writing and editing skills, they will support others in developing company-wide messages—while also maintaining guidance for use of internal communications channels, such as Slack. In addition to their internal communications responsibilities, 10–15% of the Communications Program Manager’s role will focus on functional operations and project management.

Your impact

Reaching our company goals and achieving our audacious vision of helping people communicate what they mean and be understood as intended requires every Grammarly team member to be informed, motivated, and invested. This is especially important as we continue to scale quickly across four office locations. In this role, you will provide vital support by ensuring our internal communications channels, cadence, and content are optimized. Additionally, you’ll manage the operational activities that keep Grammarly's comms efforts running smoothly—essential for a world-class comms function!

This role is ideal for someone who's looking to develop comprehensive and impactful global comms programs—and do so in a high-growth environment. Along the way, you'll gain or expand on your cross-cultural competencies, be exposed to various disciplines and the high-level thinking accompanying company strategy, and have high impact on organizational health and company culture. This impact will grow significantly over time, as we become a larger organization. You'll have a chance to shape that growth.

Specifically, you will:

    • Maintain and continuously optimize our internal communications channels, cadence, and content by
      • Curating monthly editions of Grammarly’s internal newsletter—including producing and writing all content.
      • Planning and producing content for company all-hands meetings.
      • Planning and producing content for internal and external speaker series.
      • Managing Grammarly’s online questions portal.
      • Organizing and producing talking points for town halls.
    • Create and maintain internal narratives related to Grammarly’s company goals, company strategy, product roadmap, and progress toward our vision.
    • Support messaging development—including copywriting or editing—of global company announcements.
  • Maintain guidance about Grammarly’s main internal communications channels and information hubs.
  • Partner closely with Grammarly’s Workplace Experience team and act as the Communications point of contact connecting Employer Branding, People, and Workplace Experience to create a cohesive team member engagement experience.
  • Manage operational activities, such as creating progress reports, coordinating cross-functional review processes, maintaining source-of-truth resources and media lists, and updating our press page.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Has impeccable content planning and writing skills.
  • Can manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, clearly defining project scopes and driving these projects to completion.
  • Is a storyteller who can connect seemingly disparate ideas into a logical, coherent whole.
  • Can convey messages using words and images in a way that connects emotionally and psychologically with others.
  • Has a drive to be of service to others and understands their role in owning program results, including failures and successes.
  • Asks questions that help uncover nuance and subtlety.
  • Excels at building relationships with people of various backgrounds.
  • Is extremely organized and detail-oriented.

What is your vision for the company?

Writing helps us all achieve personal, professional, and academic success, but effective communication requires talent and time. It can be very challenging, and we may not always be able to effectively express our meaning, convey our intent, and be fully understood—creating a gap with our audience. We’re building Grammarly to close this gap.

What projects are you most excited about?

I always feel pumped when I see the positive feedback we get from our users. To know that your work is helping people discover a product that meaningfully improves their lives—it never gets old.
