Job Description

Butterfly’s Core Technology Program Manager leads cross-functional innovation, coordination and delivery of breakthrough technologies, including ultrasound-on-a-chip evolution, advanced imaging and AI features, managing timelines, budgets and resource management based on input from all contributing teams and enabling a collaborative environment for on-going innovation. They own taking cross-functional teams through strategic planning, phase gates and high level communications for updates, risks and technology development progress. 


As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be: 

  • Establishing Technology Programs processes, cadences and cross-functional engagement, prioritizing collaboration, alignment and transparency of technology development,and aligning advanced developments to future product roadmaps. 
  • Driving team collaboration, facilitating cohesive technology strategy and managing cross-functional timelines, budgets, resources and deliverables to ensure execution of programs to defined goals. 
  • Managing programs through process requirements (Core Technology Development process, including Programs and Design Controls requirements, as applicable). 
  • Building schedules based on input from cross-functional teams (core technology, hardware, software, product, operations, quality, finance, marketing, commercial, etc.)
  • Providing visibility of program progress and early identification if projects are going off track or encounter a major risk, especially for those impacting timelines and budgets. 
  • Escalating cross-functional program risks, resource needs, priority conflicts to appropriate product/program or functional managers. 
  • Clearly and concisely communicating cross-functional updates and program status. 
  • Driving on-going process input and improvements to capture optimal work streams and lessons learned.
  • For other Program Management duties as assigned.  


Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

  • 15+ years advanced technology experience
  • 10+ years experience as a Program Manager in medical device technology product development
  • Demonstrated program and technology management track record of leading cross-functional teams (including advanced technology, engineering, operations, product management, deep learning, AI, imaging, strategy) to deliver core technologies
  • Experience in custom semiconductor development 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced high-growth environment, working on multiple projects with dynamic priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity, define critical tasks and drive collaboration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills at executive level
  • Experience delivering hardware products through full lifecycle
  • Proficiency in planning tools and systems (Gantt charts, Resource planning)

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):

  • Experience defining and implementing new processes and tools
  • Experience in ASIC and MEMS technology development
  • Experience in ultrasound product development
  • PMI PMP or equivalent certification
