Responsibilities:
Mature and continuously improve the Center of Excellence for Portfolio & Program Management
Build, mentor and manage a high performing team of global PMs
Design, measure, assess and report key performance metrics to inform data-driven decisions and continuous improvement
Develop, promote, and manage the processes and technologies associated with portfolio, program, project, and resource (project) management within the IT department, including continuous improvement
Help drive IT to work on the most important projects and programs for RingCentral, and guide through process those same value-driven efforts towards on-time delivery, within scope, and within budget
Responsible for status reporting and metrics around the IT portfolio to leadership teams
Responsible for assessing performance, defining improvements, deploying process changes, and sustaining the long-term health of portfolio, project, and resource management processes
Monitors value metrics to inform decisions that maximize returns across enterprise projects and programs, working towards optimization of value delivery for the portfolio
Ensures adoption and implementation of project and program management methodology and oversees project and program management coaching, including waterfall and Agile
Advise and assist leaders and teams on the best use of portfolio, program, project, and resource management disciplines and approaches
Share best practices and lessons learned across programs and projects. Advocate for best practices
Lead the development and continual refinement of portfolio, project, and resource (projects) management tools and services
Help to drive Agile practices and continuous improvement related to project management
Engage with Vendor Management and Strategic Workforce Planning to guide and assist in hiring/consultant decisions for the organization
Chair the weekly department-wide meeting to gather information for executive reporting
Manage the annual and quarterly portfolio planning
Deliver change management, clear communication, and transparency to all stakeholders on status of portfolios
Oversee projects and develop and maintain project management methodologies, standards and tools
Maintains a fully integrated, cross-functional program view while balancing technical and business needs
Partner with management on key business and operational activities
Drive transformation and reimagining how we add the most value to the business
Qualifications:
A strong technical leader with a minimum of 10 years of experience in leading a team and/or IT domain experience
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic vision and execution against a strategic plan
Capable of leading technology change with excellent strategic and technical thought leadership, and a strong focus on delivering customer value
Passion, energy, personal accountability and a desire to lead others to excellence
Experience creating, measuring, and improving business processes
Expertise in agile methodologies and how to instill an agile mindset
Proven ability to build and lead teams at scale across multiple geographies
Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong decision-making, prioritization, and negotiation • Ability to prioritize work from multiple sources, including ad-hoc or quick tasks and large-scale project work
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with PPM tools (Jira, Confluence, Clarizen/Planview, Wrike, Smartsheets, etc.)
Strong presentation, organization, and communication skills (written and verbal) with both technical and non-technical parties
Must exhibit strong security and confidentiality practices with systems that handle sensitive data
Education:
A BS or MS degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science or equivalent work experience in Information Technology
PMP/ CSM / IT certifications a plus
