We are looking for an Engineering Project Manager who is passionate about furniture product design and who has expertise taking furniture products from concept to mass production. The ideal candidate should combine passion with skillset, experience, and performance mindset. This role is will be paramount in our push to offer class leading furniture products to our customers.

The candidate must be an independent thinker and problem solver who will own the outcome of product success in both engineering and project management facets. The responsibility of driving day-to-day activities to meet and exceed program objectives is assigned to the Engineering Project Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment unhindered by ambiguity and competing priorities. Your ability to offer both high level strategic thinking and act as a hands-on maker will be critical in this role.

Position Summary, Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Collaborate extensively with engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver our next generation of product  
  • Deliver products to timely launch schedules 
  • Own mechanical design items and decision making
  • Communicate project status, risks, and change control 
  • Prioritize deliverables, tasks, and issues; manage change requests against scheduling and resource constraints 
  • Manage project budgets for development, prototype, tooling, certification etc. 
  • Provide creative solutions for simple to complex engineering and schedule items 
  • Support DVT, OOBE, and Regulatory team efforts during the product development cycle 
  • Optimize product development flow and manage supply base
  • Provide leadership by example 
  • Create/Review/Approve CAD, CMF, DFM inputs as required 
  • Lead phase exit meetings, core team meetings, escalation meetings etc.  

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent technical knowledge of mechanical engineering, product design, and design for manufacturability
  • Familiarity with, and applied knowledge of plastic Injection molding, metal casting, MIM, CNC, sheet metal stamping, forming etc.
  • A proven track record of delivering successful furniture products to market  
  • Excellent project management skills (team building, organization, information retention and distribution, communication, conflict resolution, risk mitigation, resource allocation) 
  • Phenomenal attention to detail in both design and project management
  • Direct experience leading functional engineering teams   
  • Advanced CAD skills (Solidworks, CREO)  
  • DFM, DFC, DFA, DOE, RSS stack tolerance analysis, SPC
  • BOM creation, bug tracking databases, executive and general group presentations
  • Strategic thinker who can understand and deliver on project and drive toward organizational goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering  
  • 7+ Years industry experience 
  • 5+ Years project management experience
  • Direct Furniture experience
  • Soft goods experience
  • Being a PC/Gaming enthusiast is a plus
