What we are looking for:

MasterClass is looking for a temporary Project Manager to join their Content team. This position will manage the motion graphics and editorial deliverables of a large multi-language video asset translation project. They will help to manage the work of the in-house design teams as well as external vendors, ensuring that all output is of the highest quality and consistent with the MasterClass brand.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • 3-5 years of project management or post-production coordination experience preferred.
  • Technical knowledge of 4k post-production workflow - particularly with those most related to the skills of Motion Designers - a plus.
  • Technical knowledge of digital publishing workflows - particularly those that involve creating assets in InDesign.
  • Experience in managing large-scale video asset management projects, particularly those involving localization to other geographies.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle from ideation to delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and the Director of Post, Creative Directors, Producers, Editorial, Motion Graphics & Publishing teams.
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Determine, define, and drive project completion scope and objectives. Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and resource plan.
  • Analyze costs and present and track budgets.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Facilitate onboarding of new third-party motion graphics vendors, including facilitating through People Ops & IT process.

Requirements

  • Experience in project ownership/leadership and accountability. With multi-faceted, compartmentalized teams and/or skill sets, the Project Manager needs to be the one person to bring everything and everyone together and take responsibility for the work. When it comes down to it, the Project Manager is the person most responsible for the project’s success or failure.
  • Ability to mediate competing priorities across multiple stakeholders, eliminate roadblocks and manage expectations across various dynamic personalities, as well as the ability to manage the inherent ambiguity of a large-scale cross-functional project with a new workflow.
  • Strong leadership skills, including interpersonal/building relationships, gaining trust, managing expectations, and resolving and preempting conflicts.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the highest quality standards.
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Extremely resourceful with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Build positive working relationships with all team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Experience facilitating creative critique, negotiating conflict, building teams and group dynamics, and enabling creative thought processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (we love lifelong learners, so advanced degrees are a plus!).
  • Work full-time remotely until we return to our San Francisco or Los Angeles office.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

MasterClass is located in the SOMA district of San Francsico. We are located between 3rd and 4th street with tons of public transportation nearby.
