WHAT WE DO

Postmates’ People Team is looking for an experienced immigration professional to work in our San Francisco headquarters and help support our continued headcount growth. Our ideal candidate has broad knowledge with respect to US immigration matters and is comfortable addressing new immigration issues as they arise. This person will possess a strong knack for staying on top of deadlines, candidates, hiring managers, and external vendors, all while delivering a great experience with every interaction.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee immigration programs and assist foreign nationals with immigration procedures
• Manage the relationship with our outside immigration firm: Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP
• Monitor status of a high volume of active and pending immigration petitions.
• Manage case initiation process and fact gathering.
• Facilitate completion of immigration case submissions by obtaining signatures, missing information, etc from candidates.
• Understand the procedures and documentation required for cases to be filed successfully.
• Respond to questions from candidates, recruiters, hiring managers, and outside counsel in a timely, professional manner
• Ensure compliance with all record-keeping requirements
• Train recruiters and hiring managers on available work authorization types and sponsorship timelines
• Proactively review and report on immigration regulation updates as they relate to Postmates’ employees and programs.
• Prepare immigration-related correspondence (employment confirmation letters, travel packets etc) as needed.
• Manage employment verification (I-9) program and advise team members of updates to policies or procedures

OUR REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years combined experience in an HR Generalist or Immigration related role
• Strong interest in immigration and global mobility and expanding knowledge
• Exceptional communication skills with an extreme attention to detail
• Excellent project management and vendor management skills, multitask using analytical and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
• Customer service approach to your work
• Heightened sense of urgency, meet assigned deadlines and communicate case progress/status/issues to supervisors/hiring managers

OUR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
