ROLE OVERVIEW
The Business Development Manager - Partnerships
role is a key strategic position with a growing partnership development team within a fast-growing Series C fintech leader that has been backed by Andreesen Horowitz, Ribbit, Bloomberg Beta, and Greylock. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about business and bringing people together to solve tough problems creatively.
In the Business Development Manager - Partnerships
role, you will expand our network of Financial Institutions and other strategic partners who refer prospective Home Equity Investment and HELOC customers to Point.
We are seeking a strategic thinker who can identify truly scalable opportunities, develop the relationship, and close and nurture the deal in a position for growth. This role may also help identify expansion opportunities with existing partners. It is expected that this role may consist of 10-25% out-of-office networking, presentations, and travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Through market research, industry engagement, and targeted discovery, identify prospects who have the potential to be strategic partners
  • Serve as a relied-upon subject matter expert on Point's value-add for partners, homeowners, and homebuyers
  • Work closely with product, marketing, and other internal teams to share feedback, market conditions, and requirements
  • Efficiently manage the prospect pipeline, and engage other Point teams in the sales process as needed
  • Keep abreast of competitive, regulatory, or other market dynamics that could impact our business positively or negatively
  • Coordinate new partner onboarding process and establish key milestones in the growth of the relationship


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of proven "hunter" experience in B2B sales with financial institution (banks and credit unions) or technology customers, must be in a platform or B2B2C context
  • Existing network of financial institutions
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-first culture
  • In-depth knowledge of real estate finance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially with complex subjects
  • Willingness to "roll up your sleeves" to help partners and internal teams make the most of our opportunities
  • Highly organized and disciplined -- you meet your deadlines and goals
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively and creatively, while being mindful of the overall strategic objectives

An employee can take reasonable vacation time in addition to the California PFL leave. For employees outside CA, Point will top of PFL earnings in accordance with the state applicable leave laws.
Work From Home Stipends
With employees working remotely, Point will provide employees a $50 monthly cell phone stipend and a $50 monthly internet stipend. In addition, we will reimburse up to $150 to help you purchase supplies for your home office.

Currently with Covid, our offices are our homes, so we've got a variety of neighborhoods! Our office is centrally located off the PA Caltrain stop.
