Opportunity 

As a Scrum Master, you will partner with Engineers and Product Owners to apply Scrum processes and best practices in a software engineering setting. You will facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, remove obstacles, drive communication, lead without authority, ensure processes are followed, coordinate activities and events, and teach teams how to self-organize. You will support the Product Owner and Engineering Managers by guiding them on how to properly prepare for all Scrum ceremonies, ensure the necessary inputs for Release planning are in place, and ensure all parties are well-aligned. You will also maintain visibility of all aspects related to your team’s Sprint health, follow up on escalations and prioritization changes, and coordinate with other teams to track inter-dependencies. You will be relentless in searching for better ways for the organization to operate, identify process inefficiencies, and drive getting consensus from stakeholders to make those improvements happen. You will value Scrum principles and help coach and promote them across the organization. You’ll be working on some of the most important projects in the company, and have the opportunity to make a huge impact on UJET’s success. Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Minimum 5+ years experience:
    • Scrum Master for software engineering teams, consisting of leads from Engineering, QA and Product teams
    • Working within Agile methodologies
    • Facilitate Scrum processes, e.g. backlog grooming, planning, daily standups, retrospectives
    • Facilitate cross-team coordination, tracking and following up with external dependencies
  • Strong experience with agile practices using Scrum, Kanban, SAFe.
    • Coach and mentor team members on agile standards and best practices, e.g., Kanban, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean, XP, DevOps, etc.
    • Proficiency with Jira Agile, Confluence, Google Docs 
    • Help engineering and QA team deliver against schedule
    • Help ensure new releases meet quality targets 
  • Expert-level experience configuring and maintaining agile project management tool such as Jira
    • Make configuration changes (Setup custom fields, issues, workflows, schemes) correctly
    • Track and drive all active Jira projects
    • Collect team metrics, share with the team, suggest new metrics, and drive improvement using the metrics.
  • Previous startup experience
  • Ensure teams triage both production and support issues in a timely manner and provide updates to the internal reporters of those issues as necessary
  • PMI and / or Scrum Master certification required
  • San Francisco Bay Area preferred
