Job Description
Butterfly’s Software Program Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional coordination and delivery of Software product programs - taking programs from ideation through to launch, including timeline, budget and resource management, based on input from all contributing teams. They own guiding the company through strategic planning, phase gates and communicating high level updates - in addition to defining the software development processes that enable successful launches.
As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:
- Managing multiple programs and projects through process requirements from ideation through execution (Software Development Life Cycle - including PMO, Regulatory, Design Controls requirements).
- Managing cross-functional timelines, budgets, resources and deliverables to ensure execution of programs to defined goals.
- Building comprehensive program plans based on input from cross-functional teams and holding teams accountable to their commitments, milestones, resources and deliverables (software, hardware, product, design, clinical, regulatory, marketing, operations, quality, finance, marketing, commercial, etc.)
- Providing early visibility if a program or contributing project is going off track or encounters a major risk, especially for those impacting timelines and budgets.
- Escalating cross-functional program risks, resource needs, priority conflicts to appropriate product/program or functional managers.
- Clearly and concisely communicating cross-functional updates and program status.
- Driving on-going process input and improvements to capture optimal work streams and lessons learned, and implement ideal planning tools.
- Perform a broad variety of tasks in support of the role and responsibilities.
- For other Program Management duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:
- 5+ years experience as a software program manager
- Thrives in a fast-paced high-growth environment, working on multiple projects with dynamic priorities and deadlines
- Able to manage through ambiguity, define critical tasks and drive collaboration
- Demonstrated program management track record of leading cross-functional teams to deliver on products - including software, hardware, product, design, clinical, regulatory, marketing, operations, quality, finance, marketing, commercial, etc.
- Knowledgeable of and experienced with iterative agile planning, development and delivery
- Experience delivering software products through full lifecycle - from idea to delivery
- Strong written and verbal communication skills at executive level
- Proficiency in planning tools and systems (Gantt charts, Resource planning)
Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):
- Experience defining and implementing new processes and tools
- Experience in regulated software industry (ex. Healthcare, finance)
- PMI PMP or equivalent certification
