Job Description

As Wish’s popularity continues to rise, we are looking to break down language and culture barriers to connect with our users around the globe. We are currently seeking a full-time Technical Program Manager in the Localization team to help us achieve this goal. 

In this role you will be expected to identify and prioritize opportunities to enable a truly localized experience for our customers and merchants across 40+ languages. You will work closely alongside stakeholders across the company with a focus on engineering and product management teams to define and innovate the localization tooling setup.

What you'll be doing:

  • Find opportunities to optimize localization and internationalization tooling and mitigate inefficiencies to help grow our international merchant, store, and user base

  • Support the localization strategy by experimenting with and scaling new and innovative solutions that leverage different translation approaches such as machine translation

  • Collaborate closely with our engineering and product management teams to improve internationalization pipelines and processes

  • Independently scope technical requirements, effectively manage, and appropriately prioritize localization tooling development efforts

  • Define, gather, and analyze key success metrics that measure the value and success of your programs

  • Advise and educate product teams on localization and internationalization best practices, requirements, and methodologies

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in localization program management

  • Working knowledge of industry standard localization tools

  • Strong analytical skills, a data-driven approach to problem solving, and an experimental mindset

  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and sophisticated tooling challenges

  • Enthusiasm about localization and tooling

  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, and at scale

  • Solution-oriented, highly motivated and can-do attitude

  • Well-rounded interpersonal skills and experience interacting with diverse personalities and cultures

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Smartling experience

  • Startup experience
