At Segment, we believe companies should be able to send their data wherever they want, whenever they want, with no fuss. Unfortunately, most product managers, analysts, and marketers spend too much time searching for the data they need, while engineers are stuck integrating the tools they want to use. Segment standardizes and streamlines data infrastructure with a single platform that collects, unifies, and sends data to hundreds of business tools with the flip of a switch. That way, our customers can focus on building amazing products and personalized messages for their customers, letting us take care of the complexities of processing their customer data reliably at scale. We’re in the running to power the entire customer data ecosystem, and we need the best people to take the market.

Segment is growing rapidly and seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) for the Enterprise Enablement group. The  Enablement group is responsible for enabling the Segment product with a world-class experience through our APIs, enterprise experience, and revenue enablement through pricing and billing. This role will lead technical and operational programs for this group, while collaborating with other engineering and product teams that are impacted by these programs.

In this role you will:

• Lead and manage the successful delivery of high impact and highly cross-functional program initiatives

• Drive cross-functional planning, by closely partnering with R&D leads to develop program plans, including identifying dependencies and resource requirements

• Collaborate within Engineering, Product and other organizations to evolve, standardize and instill product development processes

• Establish and drive adoption of program frameworks, tools and best practices.

• Contribute to the definition, development and tracking of effective metrics and R&D operational improvements

What we are looking for:

  • 2+ years experience in a technical program management or operational role
  • Have an ownership focus. Take responsibility for the successful completion of projects, and drive them to completion
  • Ability to build strong relationships, collaborate and communicate effectively across a variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to organize and manage complex projects with multiple dependencies
  • Experience with Agile methodologies

Bonus points:

  • BA/BS degree in engineering, computer science or similar degree
  • Ability to run SQL queries
  • Experience working with APIs, or an understanding of that space
  • Experience driving high priority projects internally across a variety of stakeholders

In this role, you will have an opportunity to deliver top priority programs for Segment, and directly impact improvements in efficiency, transparency, and predictability. You will partner with some of the best and brightest individuals to continuously improve the quality of our products while improving our engineering efficiency.

We encourage you to apply if this role excites you - even if you think you may not meet all of the qualifications. At Segment, we live by four values: karma, drive, tribe, and focus. We are always looking for outstanding individuals with diverse backgrounds and perspectives who embody these values.
