About the Role
Join Marketplace, the core engine that drives matching of supply and demand across Uber services. In Marketplace, we provide the right incentives and pricing for our riders and eaters, as well as our drivers and couriers.
The Fulfillment organization develops platforms to orchestrate and manage the lifecycle of ongoing orders and user sessions with millions of active riders, drivers and eaters. Consistency at scale and platformization of complex business modeling are our mission. We build, maintain and optimize the foundational services/frameworks on top of which Uber's core fulfillment flow is built. More than 30+ teams at Uber interact with fulfillment to unlock new functionality for our customers.
In this role, you will help ensure that the Fulfillment organization within Marketplace is properly coordinated with its 30+ partners. The Fulfillment organization shares bi-directional dependencies with these diverse teams, and you will help ensure that consensus is achieved, documented and that progress towards goals is tracked and communicated clearly. You will be the key person to organize and execute these high-impact initiatives to increase the effectiveness of our product and engineering organizations.
The role demands a focus on details, effective communication, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. Working alongside a cross-functional team that includes Engineering, Product, Data Science, and Operations in a fast-paced environment, you support the building and delivery of technology solutions that power our marketplace enterprise solution. You enjoy ambiguity and feel comfortable leading through influence.
What You'll Do
As a TPM focused on driving the success of key marketplace programs, you will work closely to align product and engineering teams to understand customer needs and unlock revenue generating opportunities. In addition, you will:
• Organize and execute as an important member of the marketplace team• Prioritize key critical initiatives based on impact through a data-focused lens• Anticipate and proactively solve long term system challenges through a deep understanding of business, product, and technology• Champion and lead effective decision making for world class system and architectural designs• Partner with the leadership and their extended teams to drive the communication and execution within the organization• Lead short-term deep dives and cross-functional project teams to structure and execute analyses needed to develop recommendations. Lead critical projects based on emergent business needs.• Develop and contribute to internal and external knowledge bases• Build enterprise grade endpoints for reliability, availability, low latency, and scalability
Basic Qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and emotional intelligence• Strong organizational skills to prioritize many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, related quantitative subject area, or equivalent practical experience• 2+ years experience as a Program Manager, TPM, or Engineering Manager in a software, SaaS, or systems development environment• Experience with or solid understanding of end-to-end software development.• Experienced in project management. Familiar with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and able to understand the benefits of and comfortably operate within each.• Analytical and truth-seeking. Understand sophisticated concepts and make reasoned decisions objectively.
Preferred Qualifications
• Skilled at facilitating discussions. You get the right people in the room, let conversations run their course while they are productive, move them toward consensus when possible, and make hard decisions or call out, as required.• Ability to conceptualize and lead delivery in a microservice environment• Curiosity and passion about the user experience. Any time you use a new app, you search out all the interesting features, looking for hidden gems. You often find yourself thinking about how you would redesign the app to provide a more delightful, friction-free experience to users.

The SF Bay Area has been Uber’s HQ since day one. Today, it houses 3,500+ employees and almost every team has a presence here. We recently opened our new headquarters, adjacent to Chase Stadium. Uber's a hybrid work environment and employees target spending 50% of their time in the office.
