The Opportunity at Komodo Health:

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to play a pivotal role to accelerate the delivery of engineering projects, with a particular focus on projects spanning multiple delivery teams. In this role, you will help solve complex and Interdependent technology and data problems that demand precise coordination involving multiple stakeholders. This is a role for someone who wants to use one of the biggest, most complete healthcare datasets to solve real world problems that deliver value to our clients while being part of the collaborative, fun, nurturing Komodo community.

After 3 months, you will have...

  • Completed Komodo’s onboarding program, including Intro to Healthcare, Intro to Engineering, Intro to Data Onboarding/
    HIPAA 101, 201 and 301 training sessions
  • Shadowed program management activities for at least one delivery team
    • Collaborated with Technical Lead of that delivery team to clarify sprint goals and actions needed to achieve them
    • Collaborated with Product Owner of that delivery team preparing/ reviewing roadmaps, feature analysis, product and engineering requirement specifications
    • Facilitated daily standup meetings, planning and backlog grooming sessions and retrospectives for that delivery team
  • Assume program manager role and perform all program management duties for at least one delivery team

In the first year you will have accomplished: 

  • Acquired a deep understanding of healthcare industry, its ecosystem, operations and data required to support those operations and regulations that control the use of healthcare data
  • Helped managed and facilitated the work for two (2) or more development teams supporting multiple business lines
  • Reported out on a regular cadence the release plans and work completed for delivery teams you are managing and facilitating
  • Worked with scrum and kanban teams by organizing their work and adopting Agile principles to manage workflow processes
  • Developed knowledge in at least one program area or tooling, such as data visualization tools or Jira/BigPicture to specialize as manager or individual contributor requiring that expertise 

As one of the members of this business-critical team, you will:

  • Problem solve data pipeline issues that extract, transform, aggregate and link data for applications
  • Assist data engineers with refactoring pipelines to combat data pipeline latencies and optimize data deployments
  • Ensure engineering teams are following guidelines for ensuring code quality and data quality
  • Mitigate technical risks caused by integration and project dependencies 
  • Maintain engineering program plans, participate in sprint planning and report on program progress
  • Track technical issues and find solutions for engineering program problems as they arise

What You Bring to Komodo:

  • Bachelor degree or higher
  • 5+ years of relevant project management and technical management experience
  • PMP and/or CSM Certification - Highly desirable
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Experience working in startup and rapidly growing organizations
  • Hands-on experience with fundamental components of Amazon Web Services, SQL and NoSQL databases and data warehouses
  • Experience managing projects with technical and non-technical dependencies
  • Can influence all levels to do the right thing for the project and the client
  • Holds people accountable without authority as their manager
  • Communicates at a high level to all levels of an organization
  • Loves and understands SQL and NoSQL databases data warehouses and data processing technologies
  • Can troubleshoot complex data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Can have deep technical design discussions
  • Can cover the pros and cons of using cloud computing platforms and different architecture patterns
  • Can think creatively and refactor technical and business solutions
