YOUR MISSION

As a Technical Program Manager, your challenge will be helping our teams successfully execute technical programs and key initiatives within and across our engineering department. 

You'll be responsible for ensuring proper planning, thorough communication and reporting, stakeholder management, and effective change management throughout the duration of your work. You will focus on driving impact, delivering measurable results across a wide range of areas, and executing cross-functional programs while supporting technical and non-technical stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you are someone who can deal with complexity and ambiguity, thrive in an environment of change, and be energized by the impact you will drive. You have extensive change management experience and know how best to communicate up and out, crafting your messaging effectively for a variety of different audiences. You are a strong team collaborator, have a solution-oriented mindset, seek data-driven decisions, and dive deep to address challenges you encounter while always looking for ways to innovate and operate more efficiently.

This position reports into the Engineering Strategy & Enablement team, MURAL's Engineering department's business planning and operations division.

The specific responsibilities of each Technical Program Manager will vary but will include either supporting an Engineering division or tackling initiative-based assignments across Engineering teams. Responsibilities may include:

  • Driving all aspects of program management within an Engineering division including planning, data gathering, analysis, communication, risk management and mitigation, status tracking and reporting, implementation, monitoring, and execution to successfully carry out the division needs.
  • Building holistic plans incorporating dependencies, key deliverables and milestones, and risk mitigation to ensure a strong foundation for programs.
  • Owning the planning and delivery of large-scale, data engineering projects that cross multiple business and engineering teams.
  • Working with Engineering and business teams on strategy and roadmap development for the short, medium, and long term with immediate focus on optimizing collaboration and intake models with current projects and key stakeholders within the division.
  • Partnering with engineering, product, and other stakeholders to develop ideas into complete solutions and deliver on operational programs.
  • Leading communication up, down, and sideways within the division, department, and organization to ensure visibility into program progress and dependencies.

YOUR PROFILE

  • 6+ years of relevant work experience in technical program management, product management, or engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to represent and showcase complex business or technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong quantitative data analysis and critical thinking skills
  • The technical acumen to understand, be able to facilitate discussion, and influence decisions made on architecture and implementation by the data engineering teams to enable successful delivery
  • Experience solving challenging engineering problems with multiple constraints
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented individual with the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, and prioritize
  • Self starter who is adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity in an ever-changing and fast-paced global environment
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for program success with the ability to drive multiple complex, multi-disciplinary projects with technical depth
  • Thrive in cross-functional settings, ability to liaise between technical staff as well as business stakeholders at both the individual contributor and leadership level, ability to influence and execute in a matrixed environment
  • Expert at change management with the proven ability to influence and affect change at all levels of the organization and drive tangible impact across business, operations, and technology
  • Familiarity and understanding of Agile practices, scrum, Jira, creating metric dashboards and integration with other collaboration tools such as Confluence
