The role:
SoFi is seeking a Revenue Accountant to join our Tech Platform Accounting team and report to one of our Senior Revenue Managers.
Join Our Mission: As a Revenue Accountant, you'll be a vital part of SoFi's innovative Tech Platform, collaborating with multiple dynamic teams and contributing to the daily and monthly operations of revenue recognition (ASC 606).
What you’ll do:
- Drive accurate invoicing, ensure the integrity of accounts receivable aging reports, and collaborate with business partners on outstanding balances
- Review new and existing revenue contracts and programs, and maintain consistent documentation to ensure compliance under US GAAP Revenue Recognition, ASC 606
- Support the monthly and quarterly close process by preparing and reviewing: journal entries, consolidated financial statement reconciliations, flux analysis, and footnote preparation for 10-Q and 10-K
- Collaborate with key cross-functional partners in Finance, Engineering, and SOX to optimize processes and drive key projects
- Update and maintain revenue and AR accounting policies
- Elevate internal controls and ensure financial reporting and external audit requirements are met
- Assist in ad-hoc analyses and projects, providing revenue and accounting teams with valuable insights
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or equivalent
- 2-3+ years of professional experience in public accounting or industry with working experience of US GAAP
- Knowledge and experience in revenue recognition under ASC 606 and/or AR
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyze data sets
Nice to have:
- CPA certification is a plus
- Hands-on experience in the financial close process
- Experience with WorkDay or other large financial systems
- Experience in managing process improvement
- Proficiency in SQL, Alteryx
- Public company experience
