Since we opened our doors in 2009, the world of commerce has evolved immensely, and so has Square. After enabling anyone to take payments and never miss a sale, we saw sellers stymied by disparate, outmoded products and tools that wouldn't work together.
So we expanded into software and started building integrated, omnichannel solutions - to help sellers sell online, manage inventory, offer buy now, pay later functionality, book appointments, engage loyal buyers, and hire and pay staff. Across it all, we've embedded financial services tools at the point of sale, so merchants can access a business loan and manage their cash flow in one place. Afterpay furthers our goal to provide omnichannel tools that unlock meaningful value and growth, enabling sellers to capture the next generation shopper, increase order sizes, and compete at a larger scale.
Today, we are a partner to sellers of all sizes - large, enterprise-scale businesses with complex operations, sellers just starting, as well as merchants who began selling with Square and have grown larger over time. As our sellers grow, so do our solutions. There is a massive opportunity in front of us. We're building a significant, meaningful, and lasting business, and we are helping sellers worldwide do the same.
The Role:
The Square RevOps team is building data-driven programs to increase team effectiveness and improve the experience of businesses that use Square's ecosystem of products. We are a team of Program Managers and Business Analysts who work with Sales, Account Managers, and cross functional partners to lead programs around company-wide priorities.
As a Sales Operations and Compensation Program Manager, you will partner with Sales and Account Manager leadership and cross functional teams to identify opportunities, align team members, pursue solutions while assessing trade-offs, and ensure the execution of programs to boost Square's growth. You will also lead the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of Square's Sales Compensation Plans and Policies. We are looking for a combination of strategic vision, attention to detail, strong initiative, and excellent interpersonal skills.
You will:

  • Work directly with sales leaders on critical strategic, organizational and operational projects designed to increase revenue, sales productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Structure and implement projects by developing work plans, gathering relevant data, leading analyses, and developing final recommendations.
  • Analyze and determine insights from key business drivers, trends and operating metrics. Translate data into insights and action, and communicate recommendations to sales leadership and the broader organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to guide decision-making and ensure effective implementation
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of sales compensation plan and policies

Qualifications
You have:

  • 5+ years of experience in Sales Strategy, Operations, Sales Compensation, and/or Sales Finance at a technology or FInTech company, or as a Management Consultant
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence and manage cross-functional stakeholders
  • Familiar with sales compensation plan mechanics
  • Experience segmenting and prioritizing large multi-quarter projects into pilots and future iterations
  • Experience with Salesforce, Excel, Looker (Data-visualization equivalent) and SQL
  • Must be located in, or comfortable working in Pacific Time Zone
  • Experience working with APAC market preferred
