The Role:
Carrot is seeking an AVP of Business Development (Consultant Relations) to lead Carrot’s team of Business Development Managers and Executives. The BDM/E team is a highly experienced team of individuals responsible for developing trust-based relationships with key consultants, ensuring our inclusion in appropriate opportunities, driving successful outcomes and generally educating the consultant market on Carrot capabilities.
The AVP of Business Development at Carrot Fertility will be responsible for leading a team to revenue targets by advocating for Carrot’s key value propositions: providing equitable fertility care to all while lowering employer healthcare costs. The AVP will be a senior member of Carrot’s Sales Leadership team and will have significant influence over our go-to-market strategy and operations of the BD team.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a team of ~7 individual contributors while fostering a culture of strong performance.
- Align the BD team by firm/territory/market segment to drive optimal coverage and outcomes.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to refine and further develop market opportunities to target key consulting firms
- Develop and report on internal KPIs or SMART goals to ensure that the team is on target.
- Work closely with the BD team on messaging, potential solution gaps, and understanding of the consulting market
- Attract and train additional top performers as needed to support growth objectives.
- Conduct 1:1s and contribute to larger sales team meetings.
- Work closely with the Sales leadership team to identify and resolve obstacles, share strategies and learnings, and ensure continued success.
- Provide market feedback to other internal teams to drive product/service innovation and key value propositions.

The Team:
The AVP, Business Development will oversee a team of 6 BDs and a Lead Generation Manager across the US. The position would report to the VP of Sales.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years in a Consultant Relations or BD role, with experience directly managing individual contributors
- Deep experience working with brokers/consultants and utilizing key relationships to influence growth
- Experience selling to Benefits leaders, health innovation teams and clinical point solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years in a CR or BD leadership role
- 5+ years in the health technology or benefits space is preferred
- Proven track record of significantly increasing team impact year over year
- Strong established relationships with top talent in key consulting firms
