This role will require travel and some work during the evenings and occasional weekends.

The Business Development, Pharma Services role will be responsible for generating profitable sales that further the growth of the Biopharma Services business that incorporates complex oncology services, including minimal residual disease (MRD) testing services for solid tumor and hematological cancers, exome sequencing, genome sequencing and RNA sequencing for translational research & therapy selection, immune repertoire sequencing and comprehensive germline panels.

What you’ll do:

  • Responsible for representing Invitae’s MRD testing services and clinical trials capabilities to potential biopharma collaboration partners
  • Identify, prioritize, and engage all biopharma entities currently involved in oncology-related clinical trials
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive Clinical Research Organization (CRO) strategy within a defined geographic region
  • Cultivate and leverage customer relationships into a referral base through professionalism, focus on customer service and support and providing added value in every engagement
  • Represent Invitae in a professional and knowledgeable manner at national biopharma and oncology meetings and symposia
  • Collaborate with Invitae legal to lead the contracting process including drafting Term Sheets and Master Services Agreements (MSA) and negotiation of final terms resulting in execution of the MSA.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets
  • Consistently maintain accurate customer data including contacts, competitive landscape, test volumes and current status within Invitae CRM
  • Provide accurate forecasting data and deliver regular business reviews to senior management
  • Incentive compensation eligible

What you bring: 

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in business or life sciences
  • A passion for sales with a high degree of accountability and experience developing a book of business from the ground up with advanced presentation and negotiation skills
  • 10+ years of experience, selling into C-suite, deep industry experience and proven track record of delivering sales results and growing business in alliance management and biopharma engagement
  • Substantial experience building relationships and selling complex, value driven solutions to a variety of stakeholders (including into the C-Suite) across the biopharma landscape
  • Must take initiative and be detail-oriented, well organized and have ability to meet forecast deadlines and perform in a fast-paced work environment – work with a sense of urgency
  • Must thrive in an extremely dynamic, fast paced, and ambiguous environment and be mentally nimble to pivot as necessary

The actual salary for this role will be based on several variables, including geographic location, work experience, education, and skills and achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon.

$144,240$180,300 USD
