The segment is instrumental to the success of our ambition to become a great SaaS company. The Business Executive supports our Executive Vice President who leads our Medium Business Segment (MBS). Working as part of the MBS leadership team, the Business Executive provides outstanding executive support across a number of key areas from ensuring the MBS is organised, prepared and focused on the key strategic priorities by taking ownership of specific functional or strategic tasks, as well as supporting decision excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective ways of working across the MBS leadership team, partnering with the PBP, FBP, Comms Director, and Executive Assistant.
  • Ensure EVP is prepared for all meetings and has required briefing documents, ensuring a high level of quality in all meeting materials.
  • Maintain MBS leadership team cadence and high-quality planning, ensuring that meetings and site visits are proactive planned and delivered.
  • Join relevant meetings where decisions are made and actions determined, to ensure outcomes are recorded, accountabilities are made clear, tracked and delivered on time.
  • Act as a delegate for the EVP MBS working alongside direct reports on specific projects; reviewing deliverables ahead of submission to EVP to ensure quality.
  • Gathering content for and writing papers / materials for board meetings, executive team meetings, senior leadership conferences etc.
  • Partnering with Investor relations to prepare high quality presentations, scripts and investor materials. Working closely with the COO office to prepare for external presentations and investor meetings.
  • Partnering with PBP, FBP, Comms Director and MBS leadership team to ensure high quality materials are produced to give visibility into progress of strategic priorities, enabling EVP to report to progress to COO office.
  • Internal and external scanning for trends in tech – bringing these trends and insights into strategy and decision-making processes.
  • Pro-active in gathering data and providing reporting that will enable the proper preparation for meetings and maximize productivity.
  • Manage relationships on behalf of the EVP with specified internal stakeholders, to maximize potential benefit for Sage and minimize unnecessary distraction.
  • Managing specific special confidential projects independently; gathering information, liaising with external advisors independently, preparing materials, managing project plans, delivering and monitoring specific outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Ability to quickly collate information, process and make decisions working across multiple topics simultaneously
  • Strong action-orientation, independent thinker with excellent organisation skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills to be able to build rapport and influence across the organisation
  • Build and manage effective relationships with all stakeholders, in particular MBS leaders, leaders across the product and technology community, other BE's, regional stakeholders and all support functions
  • High levels of personal energy and ability to work with a range of people and cultures at all levels
  • Ability to build relationships, build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels, backgrounds and across the world
  • Excellent ability to work as part of a team, providing coaching, challenge and injecting pace as situations demand
  • Superb attention to detail skills with balanced focus on delivering desired outcomes as well as the ability to think strategically
  • Strong ability to absorb vast amounts of information and data, to construct clear communications and key updates
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and be able to execute resolutions
  • Very strong understanding of technology including Cloud, Social, Mobile and Analytics in B2B and B2C, and Digital and social engagement
  • Highly organised, structured, process-driven approach with focus on achieving high quality, desired outcomes.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Learning agility and curious mindset
  • Willing to travel within North America and internationally
  • Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent
  • MBA preferred
  • Strong commercial finance and business analytics capability

Preferred:

  • A background in Finance, Commercial or Product
  • Experience of working with executive leaders and confident navigating a matrix organisation
  • Preference for experience with global software/SaaS companies in a product or technology-centric role
