The Role
Afterpay is looking for a high-energy, dynamic sales and business development executive to forge and expand our relationships with top tier retailers and brands that will drive significant value for the company. As a leader on the sales team, you will be on the front-lines of a fast-growing payments business - talking commerce with business owners of highly coveted brands to leading executives of Fortune 500 companies.
The ideal candidate thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment, has a passion for developing and expanding client relationships, and possesses the ability to create new opportunities and close them. As a member of the US team, you have a unique opportunity to make an immediate impact, and influence many aspects of the business.
Responsibilities
- Source, negotiate and sign agreements with top tier retailers including but not limited to enterprise and mid-market brands and retailers
- Develop a sales target plan and strategic framework through which all deals will be evaluated, operated and measured
- Make recommendations on deal terms and support per partner to accelerate close rate while maintaining margin
- Build and nurture strong relationships at top retailers and brands; leverage existing relationships to get meetings with the key decision makers, drive engagement, solidify deals and revenue
- Use competitive insights to inform selling strategy and strategic direction
- Find creative ways to develop and grow a high-volume, ever expanding sales pipeline
- Ability to source and target non traditional brands, keep on top of the market and trends in the industry to identify new up and coming players
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years experience in a sales or business development role
- Demonstrated track record of managing complex sales processes with enterprise accounts, developing new business opportunities, exceeding sales targets, forecasting and closing sales
- Proven success selling to and working with executives at multi-million / billion dollar retailers and brands.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships both internally and with C-level decision makers
- Collaborative team player, proactive, resourceful, efficient with a high level of energy and enthusiasm
- Comfortable concurrently managing multiple accounts and closing deals quickly
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work fast & smart independently
- Exceptional communication, organizational & time management skills
- Must be willing to travel (once we are back to traveling!)
