The Role
Afterpay is seeking a Head of Sales for the US to continue the already strong commercial growth of the business. The ideal candidate will have a breadth of experience and understanding with a variety of customer types and user audiences, and an appreciation of the different approaches to optimally grow each. They will be data-driven, analytical, and have a clear appreciation for an integrated commercial continuum and a clear business mind for product considerations and how they will impact revenue. As a critical leader in the company, this hire will be someone with genuine executive presence.
Key Responsibilities
-Work closely with the Afterpay Sales Leadership Team and Global Head of Sales to assess the current business, develop a deep understanding of Afterpay’s product, customers, addressable market, their use of technologies and how they are currently sold and supported.
-Act as US Country Lead taking on the responsibility of driving cohesion amongst all functions within the region to deliver against OKRs and P&L
-Take hands-on responsibility for driving revenue growth and customer value.
-Own revenues end-to-end, including Enterprise, Mid-market and SMB sales, Client Success, and Merchant Services
-Further develop US GTM strategy and plan, taking into account the various customer groups Afterpay sells into.
-Execute on the cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts.
-Set clear priorities, communicate them transparently and translate them into actionable, pragmatic deliverables.
-Ensure the business is running on the right set of consistent KPIs and has the right go-to-market team in place to succeed across sales, and client success.
-Establish monthly, quarterly, annual revenue targets and deliver against them.
-Drive innovation back into the product roadmap through the delivery of key customer insights
-Take all opportunities to inform and educate the market about Afterpay.
-Develop cohesive & productive relationships with all members of the Management Team.
-Play a pivotal role in the development and leadership of the US business through its scaling journey
Minimum Qualifications
-Experienced leader with successful track record from FinTech, Financial Services, Retail, eCommerce, or Software sales.
-Has led large scale enterprise sales teams as well as broad based SMB sales teams previously, preferably within FinTech or Financial Services selling into Retail/Online retail/eCommerce.
-Ideally has extensive relationships in the US retail industry and/or a network to hire the right sales team with those relationships, with a focus on fashion and beauty.
-Excellent sales process skills and disciplines. Ability to take a planned, data-oriented and analytical approach, including a transparent and accurate forecasting process.
-Experience in effectively working and succeeding in a matrix global organization to maximize the value of the local region and leverage the global sales merchant relationships.
-Strong commitment to building relationships and working collaboratively. A culture carrier for the business and strategic visionary.
-Experience in fast growing venture capital or private equity backed businesses within eCommerce or FinTech would be advantageous
