About Sentry

Bad software is everywhere, and we’re tired of it. Sentry is on a mission to help developers write better software faster, so we can get back to enjoying technology.

With more than $127 million in funding and 80,000 organizations that believe we’re on to something, we're building performance and error monitoring tools that help companies like Disney, Microsoft, and Atlassian spend less time fixing bugs and more time building products. If you like to selfishly build things that make your digital life better, come help us build the next generation of software monitoring tools

Sentry is looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing Sales team. As a member of our SDR team, you’ll hit the ground running and provide a real impact from your first day, helping our fast-growing company build on the thousands of companies around the world using (and loving) Sentry. If you’re a self-driven, tenacious person who’s excited at the prospect of working in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to speak with you!

Sentry started life in 2008 as an open-source side project, and we work hard to stay true to our roots while we scale as a company. We offer a self-hosted version of the Sentry product that is feature complete, and as open source as we can make it. Sentry is built by developers for developers, so our engineers and product managers are active on open-source channels such as GitHub and Discord, engaging in real conversations to make Sentry even better than it already is.

The Open Source Program Office is the team responsible for Sentry's relationship with the open-source community. We run programs inside the company to ensure that Sentry delivers the experience that our customers and the wider developer community expect from a corporate-sponsored open-source project such as ours. You will be the first Technical Program Manager to join the team, which started three years ago with a focus on release engineering and community automation and is now shifting scope to focus on coordinating with teams such as Legal, Finance, Support, Marketing, and Developer Relations in addition to Product and Build Engineering.

In this role you will:

  • Qualify inbound marketing leads for our Account Executive team.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to execute lead generation campaigns.
  • Pass qualified leads to Account Executives and to keep updated prospect forecast of opportunity.
  • Answer customer business questions and determine if there is:
    • Appropriate contact(s) information for people involved in the buying process.
    • Appropriate influence to make or push through a buying process.
    • Why Sentry is a possible solution for their needs.
    • A need for Sentry accompanied with a possible timeline.
  • Set meetings with key contacts and schedule introductions with the Account Executives.

  • Passionate about delivering a great customer experience.
  • Results-driven and takes initiative, both independently and in collaborative environments.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented.
  • Experienced with (and excited about) working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: you’ll often be the first impression of Sentry a company gets.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to become deeply fluent in Sentry’s technology and the industry.
  • Nice to have:
    • Knowledge of Sentry, Application Performance Monitoring, and developer workflows.
    • Flexibility (ability to work across different time zones) and ability to think quickly on your feet.
    • High energy and positive attitude.
