About the Team and Role

Crunchyroll is looking for a passionate salesperson experienced partnering with gaming, entertainment & consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies as well as media agencies to sell media campaigns consisting of video, social integration, events and custom media packages.

As an individual contributor reporting to the Head of Direct Sales, the Sales Executive will be joining Crunchyroll's growing Ad Sales team. We are fortunate to serve a wide-reaching population of 60M Crunchyroll and VRV fans. Through our multiple media channels, we primarily target game publishers, movie studios, and CPG brands to give them access to our highly engaged and scaled communities.

Once deemed safe and appropriate, travel will be recommended for this role. Our team attends various Anime and Gaming conventions throughout the year. Both local and international.

Location: San Francisco

Our headquarters is located in downtown San Francisco, where our group of cross-functional experts assemble to create experiences for Crunchyroll and VRV’s passionate communities.

Crunchyroll COVID-19 Hiring Status 

Crunchyroll employees are currently working from home and we are still conducting remote interviews and hiring during this time. This role is expected to start remotely and we’ll work closely with you as we understand every person has unique circumstances. 

Responsibilities:

  • Be enterprising. Develop sales pipeline and build relationships with prospects across gaming, media, and consumer products.
  • Source, generate, and contact qualified leads.
  • Present Crunchyroll & VRV to mixed audiences of leadership, decision makers, and agency professionals.
  • Translate client goals and metrics into engaging advertising campaigns that delight our audience.
  • Lead custom campaigns and break them down into impactful project tasks for other team members, coordinate progress and report on results.
  • Drive communication by responding to emails quickly, and ensuring all parties have the information needed to complete their section of the project.
  • Problem-solve. Rarely does a campaign go smooth from start to finish; you will handle bumps and deviations with patience and focus on providing solutions that meet all parties’ needs.
  • Expect to commit ~25% of time to meetings, conventions - local and overseas.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of media sales and business development experience (B2B); digital media, ads, and/or campaign-focused experience is a plus.
  • Experience crafting and presenting media campaigns to prospects with an understanding of roll out plans, target demographics, and budget(s).
  • Prior success consistently achieving sales goals and meeting or exceeding partner expectations.
  • Experience with multi-million dollar revenue targets.
  • Strengths building proposals and responding to RFPs.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Superb written and oral communication skills.
  • Seeking an opportunity to join a growing business team.

Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of the programmatic video space setting up PMPs with user IDs with DSPs.
  • Gaming, entertainment & CPG background with clients/agencies.
  • Experience leading multifaceted projects.
  • Experience with CRM, Salesforce, Google slides, PPT, Excel and/or comparable sales tools.
  • Passion for entertainment, anime/gaming, pop and/or counterculture.
