Sales Engineer - Commercial

The Challenge
As a Sales Engineer, you will be the primary technical and product resource for our sales team taking a consultative approach with our customers by identifying their use cases, pains, and driving technical alignment between customer needs and the DroneDeploy solution. You will be an industry expert, effectively describing and demonstrating our solution as well as promoting our vision and approach.Our teams’ vision is to unlock the value of aerial data for our clients, by helping them make their jobs easier, safer, and more efficient through our diverse team of forward-thinking, industry definers. That’s a tall order. We need someone who can deliver.
Responsibilities
- Consult with prospective customers to identify the current state of their drone programs, identify current pain points, collaborate on solutions, and drive successful evaluations to align their needs with ours
- Support the Sales team with opportunity qualification, demonstrations, Proof of Concept presentations (POC), RFP responses & business justification in a presales capacity
- Evangelize new product features & provide customer feedback to DroneDeploy’s product management and engineering teams
- Assist the Customer Success team with the post-sales technical process: installation, deployment, training, technical check-ups, and escalation management, including API integrations and Internal App development
Qualifications
- 3-5 years in pre-sales, consulting, customer-facing experience with Enterprise SaaS (CSMs, Sales Reps, Consultants, Support)
- Strong time management skills
- Strong communication skills (inquisitive during the interview and is curious to learn more)
- Strong presentation skills (short and succinct in their delivery and response to questions)
- Adaptable to changing organizations and teams (team restructuring, team growth or reduction, career shifts)
- Experience in the drone industry, current regulations, photogrammetry, and GIS (existing knowledge a plus)
- Ability to attain a Part 107 Certification (existing certification a plus)
- Customer Industry knowledge (Construction, Oil & Gas, Renewables, Mining, Insurance), a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
