Sales Engineer (Pre-Sales)
Grammarly offers a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members can work primarily remotely. Starting in 2022, teams will meet in person a few weeks every quarter in one of Grammarly's hubs, currently in San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, and Kyiv. To ensure that teams are able to overlap in their working hours and to meet face-to-face when needed, all team members need to live within three time zones of a hub. Grammarly team members who will be collaborating at our San Francisco hub must be based in the United States.
The opportunity
Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect, whenever and wherever they communicate. More than 30 million people and 30,000 teams around the world use our AI-powered writing assistant every day. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.
To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Sales Engineer to join our fast-growing Grammarly Business team. The role will work toward building Grammarly Business into a thriving global B2B offering. This includes setting the bar high for impact in key deals and taking the responsibility to accelerate growth.
Your impact
As Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring successful deals—by showcasing our product, running proofs-of-value, overcoming objections, and bringing feedback to our Product team. You will also help build out the necessary tools and processes to accelerate deals and make the team more effective and efficient.
As a member of Grammarly Business’s first Sales Engineering department, you will work collaboratively with your peers to build out this new function. You will specialize as a leader in one area (e.g., pre-sale) and serve as a generalist in others (e.g., value realization). In your area of specialty, you will define new processes and standards for how future Sales Engineers will work. You will coach your peers and seek feedback to improve and evolve what you put in place. Outside of your area of specialty, you will test the processes and standards set by your colleagues and provide feedback on improving what they are building in those areas.
In this role, you will:
- Take part in some of Grammarly Business’s largest deals.
- Inform both product and self-serve roadmaps for Grammarly Business.
- Be central to building up a successful end-to-end revenue machine.
We’re looking for someone who
- Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
- Relentlessly sets and pursues short- and long-term goals.
- Is passionate about working with prospects and customers to deepen relationships, find solutions, and close deals.
- Is analytical and able to think through and link Grammarly’s software to the outcomes clients are solving for.
- Enjoys working collaboratively—particularly with Product, Engineering, and Product Marketing teams.
- Works effectively with InfoSec and IT and related teams to ensure client confidence and solve specific client needs.
- Applies an understanding of SaaS business models to identify and shape solutions.
- Uses data to identify gaps and opportunities.
- Communicates effectively.
