The opportunity

Grammarly empowers people to thrive and connect, whenever and wherever they communicate. More than 20 million people around the world use our AI-powered writing assistant every day. All of this begins with our team collaborating in a values-driven and learning-oriented environment.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for our first Sales Engineer to join our fast-growing enterprise team. The role will work toward building Grammarly Business into a thriving global B2B offering. That includes introducing this new capability to our organization, setting the bar high for impact in key deals, and taking the responsibility to accelerate growth.

Your impact

As the founding Sales Engineer at Grammarly Business, you will build a new function responsible for ensuring successful deals. In your first quarter, you will get close to late-stage, large enterprise deals, learn the product deeply, and develop a plan for building out the Sales Engineering capability. By your second quarter, you will start the process of hiring a Sales Engineering team as well as work cross-functionally to develop key assets that accelerate deals and support efforts to handle smaller deals through Grammarly’s self-serve funnel.

By the end of the first year, the Sales Engineering team will work in most large deals with Enterprise Field Sales, critical deals with Commercial Inside Sales, and routinely bring feedback to Marketing and Product for continuous product and self-serve improvements.

You will have an opportunity to:

  • Be part of some of Grammarly Business’s first and largest deals
  • Establish a Sales Engineering capability from the ground up
  • Shape Grammarly Business’s sales (and related) capabilities and sales motions
  • Inform both product and self-serve roadmaps for Grammarly Business
  • Be a key leader working to stand up a successful end-to-end revenue machine

We’re looking for someone who

  • Embodies our EAGER values—is ethical, adaptable, gritty, empathetic, and remarkable.
  • Is passionate about finding solutions to close deals in ways that work for clients and company
  • Effectively works with InfoSec and related teams to ensure client confidence as well as to find solutions to specific client needs
  • Enjoys working collaboratively—particularly with Product and Engineering
  • Applies an understanding of SaaS business models to identify and shape solutions
  • Relentlessly sets and pursues short- and long-term goals
  • Knows what a high-performing Sales Engineering team requires (e.g., capabilities, support)
  • Figures out how to identify opportunities and work through challenges creatively
  • Uses data to identify gaps and opportunities
  • Communicates very effectively

We also take time to celebrate our colleagues and accomplishments with global, local, and team-specific events and programs.
  • Comprehensive benefits: Grammarly offers all team members competitive pay along with a benefits package that includes superior health care. We also offer ample and defined time off, catered lunches, gym and recreation stipends, admission discounts, and more.

An Insider's view of Grammarly

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

We resolve our problems with constructive discussions that are only made possible by the level of empathy and listening skills that team members have here. It makes me happy to know I work with such exceptional people.

How does the company support your career growth?

I was initially attracted to (and surprised by) the growth and scale of the business, and the feeling only grows as we expand into B2B. With its adaptable, positive, and passionate team, Grammarly is a unique place to be."

What is your vision for the company?

Writing helps us all achieve personal, professional, and academic success, but effective communication requires talent and time. It can be very challenging, and we may not always be able to effectively express our meaning, convey our intent, and be fully understood—creating a gap with our audience. We’re building Grammarly to close this gap.

Brad

CEO

What projects are you most excited about?

I always feel pumped when I see the positive feedback we get from our users. To know that your work is helping people discover a product that meaningfully improves their lives—it never gets old.

Shanik
