Overview

The Sales Training Manager will be the training and educational point-person for the retail and inside sales teams on product knowledge, selling strategy, and training manuals. Reporting to the Director of Inside Sales, the Sales Training Manager will be responsible for ensuring all sales staff receive new hire, product and selling skills training. Working cross-functionally, you will develop training for organizational processes, on-going product updates, and selling strategies. Training will take place via Zoom meetings as well as on-site and in-person at retail locations. 

In partnership with Sales and Retail Leaders and product managers, the Sales Training Manager will review skills gaps to help identify areas of improvement and successfully develop, deploy and ensure adoption of product and selling skills training programs, processes, systems, and tools. The Sales Training Manager is responsible for ensuring sales teams are up to date on the latest product features relevant to selling, which includes understanding the new feature, how it works, how to demo it, and why it matters to our customer.

This role is required to have strong training development and facilitation skills and the ability to coach and train associates and managers one-on-one or in group settings on sales selling techniques and methodology.

This role will be based at Tonal HQ in San Francisco and with frequent travel to Tonal retail locations across the US.

What you will do

  • Develop training programs focused on selling skills and product knowledge, for new and current associates, including training manuals and delivery
  • Analyze the current on-boarding plan by aligning with stakeholders and improve efficiencies in the training program 
  • Initiate and review skills gap analysis to help identify areas of improvement
  • Build KPIs with Retail & Sales Leaders to measure training effectiveness on store and sales teams
  • Develop Tonal product and sales training materials and deployment tools
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand new feature and content road map and how it affects our customers
  • Coach and train associates and managers in person, via webinars or other relevant facilitation tools
  • Develop a continual education program to measure sales and retail teams’ competency
  • Coordinate training logistics and timing with local sales leaders 
  • Travel to retail locations to host onsite training

 

Who You Are

  • Expert in training content development and storytelling
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Learning and Development delivery
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of skill in facilitating and coaching one-on-one and in groups
  • Able to lead Learning Management System selection and development 
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented
  • A high level of listening, courtesy and communication skills
  • Comfortable working as part of a connected dispersed team and self-motivated
  • Excel in fast-paced and ambiguous situations by possessing impeccable organizational skills, patience, and empathy
  • Ability to be flexible and manage tasks according to the needs of the business
  • Photoshop and/or SCORM experience
  • Experience with G-Suite, Salesforce, and Keynote
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Four plus years’ experience; at least four years of sales and retail training experience
  • Expect travel 20% of the time
