Senior Business Development Manager, Operations
About the role:
The Senior Business Development Manager, Operations, will sit within Udemy’s Business Development team and support business development efforts across the various business lines, including Udemy for Government and Japan market.
As the Senior Business Development Manager, Operations, your key responsibility is to define and operationalize key support systems/processes and reporting. You will also be involved in managing partners and customers to drive growth of the business and achieve revenue attainment objectives.
You will work closely with other members of the Business Development team (Sales, Customer Success and Partnerships) as well as other Udemy teams. You would get the opportunity to define and implement systems, processes and projects and work with partners/customers to scale a SaSS business and create impact.
Strong candidates should be comfortable working in an evolving environment, analytical, able to connect the dots, and a strong communicator.
Here's what you will be doing:
- Ownership of sales operations: responsible for the setting up and managing sales process, with tools such as Salesforce & Gainsight, to provide meaningful insight into our client lifecycle, working with Rev Ops & Salesforce/ Gainsight admins, and serving as the bridge between BD and Finance teams
- Ownership of Implementation Tools: Responsible for Tapen set up and management for trials, new sales and coupons
- Measuring: Clear understanding of key business metrics, work with leadership to establish and track KPIs and goals to support business operations
- Reporting: Creating dashboards and reports to track goals and targets
- Insights: Writing SQL queries to extract data from Udemy database to provide insights on the business. Work closely with Udemy’s data science teams to create the standardized reports for UFG/UFB Japan/JP Marketplace
- Partners Management: Work with resellers and partners to drive business growth in international markets
- Customer Success: Engage customers to drive adoption and engagement towards renewal goals

- You were responsible for building dashboards and reports in previous roles
- Analytical in nature with the ability to dissect significant amounts of data and turn into meaningful insights
- Eye for opportunities to improve processes
- Basic SQL knowledge
- Strong communication skills to work with partners and customers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including excellent written, presentation and negotiation skills and ability to create and deliver convincing arguments
- Proven effectiveness working across functional teams
