POSITION SUMMARY

Harness is obsessed with customer success. It’s in our DNA to ensure that our customers are thrilled with our platform, and we're looking for a top-shelf Customer Success Engineer (CSE) to continue making that goal a reality. Customer Success Engineering at Harness is a team of talented DevOps Engineers providing strategic production support for our most complex customer environments (Charles Schwab, Walmart, Twitter, to name a few). This is a unique career opportunity, in that it will provide significant hands-on exposure to the entire ecosystem of modern DevOps tools and cloud-native frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team up with the post-sales organization to onboard and support our growing customer base; assist with customer installs and integrations
  • Provide daily technical troubleshooting and best practices as the subject-matter expert on our platform.
  • Help contribute and maintain our growing knowledge base.
  • Advocate customer needs cross-departmentally. Align seamlessly with our customer success and engineering teams to provide a seamless customer experience and maximize customer retention / expansion.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Curious and a self starter - when you hit an obstacle you research and investigate until you solve it
  • A strong engineer - you’ve been in our customers’ shoes before and can anticipate their challenges and needs
  • Highly organized - you can calmly juggle multiple tasks and priorities and keep all the relevant people and systems updated as you go along
  • A team-player - nothing happens in a vacuum, you'll need to be able to leverage our entire customer team and our own product development teams as needed and keep everyone informed
  • Comfortable interacting with customers remotely, over the phone and via live chat

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

  • 5+ years experience deploying and/or supporting enterprise software
  • Experience implementing and/or troubleshooting software solutions for customers
  • Significant experience working with Linux OS
  • Ability to troubleshoot networking issues that may prevent communication between different components
  • Excellent communication skills and interest in working with customers onsite and remotely
  • BS in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience

EVEN BETTER IF YOU HAVE

  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or other cloud platforms and corresponding services
  • Hands-on experience with container technologies and build tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience with deployment methodologies (chef, puppet, ansible)
  • Experience working with Zendesk and Jira
  • Project management skills
