Solution Principal - Late Development and Manufacturing Senior Advisor

ROLE OVERVIEW
We’re looking for experienced professionals with expertise in GLP, GCLP and GMP-validated software addressing late development and manufacturing biologics use cases, who are eager to work directly with our customers and our engineering team to create impactful solutions that drive the biotech revolution. Benchling has the unique potential to manage research, development, and late stage bioprocessing on a single platform, giving teams a wholistic view into their science.
This role is a leadership opportunity that will significantly impact Benchling’s product direction, owning the success of our first customers in this new market. This role will influence and advise across senior stakeholders at Benchling, including C-suite, spanning strategy, product, sales, and customer experience.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Operate as the senior expert in the company on bioprocessing and manufacturing use cases
- Evangelize Benchling’s bioprocessing and manufacturing functional coverage and roadmap with internal stakeholders, prospects, and customers
- Work with engineers and product managers to plan, prioritize, and execute on launching new features to address late development and manufacturing use cases, and rapidly launch compliant integrations
- Interface deeply with customers at the cutting edge of biotechnology to understand their software systems and recommend how Benchling can help
- Develop pitches with Sales and Marketing that resonate in a market that's rapidly evolving
- Partner with Services and Customer Success to enable complex rollouts at large enterprise customers with GxP needs, and advise on validation documentation
- Design and implement cloud-based integrations and extensions on top of the Benchling platform
- Participate and contribute to process, product, and best practices initiatives
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or engineering. Advanced degree such as a Ph.D in life sciences preferred.
- 10-15+ years direct experience working with complex software in the life sciences development and manufacturing space
- Ideally has worked in senior leadership positions such as a Director, Senior Director, or similar in information technology, bioprocessing, or manufacturing, leading or supporting GMP process development and production. Expert on the science and the software tools used to enable it.
- Has coached implementation teams in the proper execution of implementing in a validated environment and has exposure to validation in cloud deployments
- Experience in the review, documentation and testing of systems to ensure compliance with FDA/EMA guidance for computer systems
- Excellent at listening to others and expressing ideas in written and oral form
- Great at empathizing with scientists and can quickly understand complicated scientific concepts
- Able to partner with sales and marketing on messaging, and with engineering and product to work through challenging technical problems
- Curious, creative, and tenacious. Excited to collaborate with sales, product and customers as a thought partner.
- Ability to travel 25-30%
