A Solutions Architect at Primer will have the unique role of leveraging their engineering skills to solve individual customer problems. You’ll regularly engage with the customer in both pre and post sales capacities, to scope and prototype the solution, lead the implementation/deployment, and address obstacles that might hinder a customer from being successful with our product. Using your ability to detect problems before they happen, and size-up new technical concepts quickly, you enable customers to understand and experience the value of the product.

To succeed in this role, you must enjoy problem solving, especially in new environments where you don’t have all the context. You should be curious about your work, not settling for “good enough”, but instead “is there a better way to do this?” Having a background in Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps will be an asset to you in this role. Strong people skills are also essential as you will be working closely with customers.

The Organization: Solutions Architecture

Primer is an artificial intelligence company that organizes and analyzes text-based data sources, and generates analyst-grade natural language summaries for a variety of industries. Our objective is to help our customers understand the world around them -- whether it is emerging geopolitical events, development of a product line or area of research, or monitoring a portfolio of companies’ financial performances.

The Solutions Architecture team is a jack-of-all-trades organization that serves as the interface between the customers and the company. Our charter is: (1) scope and deploy Primer’s suite of NLP/NLG solutions to our customers; (2) prototype new technologies and concepts to meet the needs of the customer; (3) maintain our current customer relationships and seek opportunities to improve customer usage and satisfaction; and (4) channel customer feedback and usage patterns back to Primer to drive future product development.

Responsibilities

  • Support the ideation and implementation of solutions and feature sets for the customers, partner with Primer’s product and engineering organizations to create and deliver.
  • Act as a full-stack everything: data scientist, engineer, and customer liaison for Primer.
  • Partner with product and engineers at Primer to identify and prioritize new feature and algorithmic development based on customer engagement and feedback.
  • Build ways to analyze and understand customer engagement and product performance through modeling and data visualization.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in computer science, engineering, or other quantitative field.
  • 5-7+ years of professional experience in the areas of developing and deploying enterprise software solutions, solutions architecture, and customer implementation.
  • 3-5 years experience with DevOps / SRE technologies and best practices.
  • 3-5 experience with the major cloud providers such as AWS, GCE, Azure.
  • Experience with Docker and Elastic stackUnderstanding of security practices such as PCI, SOX, FedRAMP, FIPS, SELinuxAbility to communicate effectively to diverse audiences with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly, maintain positive attitude under pressure, and have fun all at the same time!Ability to think about solutions from a customer perspective, establish conceptual connections between requirements and solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills – you will be the face of Primer to customers’ organizations.
