Over the last few years Grove Collaborative has successfully built several of our own brand of products: our flagship line of Grove home care products, Seedling by Grove, our tree-free tissue, Rooted Beauty, natural skin/hair care that delivers great performance at an amazing value, and more. The next exciting chapter for our Owned Brands is forging the right retail partnerships and start selling these products outside of the Grove platform.

We need an experienced leader who has the ability to take Grove's brands and products to the right online and brick & mortar retailers to recognize the huge growth opportunity in front of us. You will be building the strategy as well as the team. You need to know what retailers offer what challenges and benefits, what the financial models look like across the retail spectrum, where our marketing dollars are best spent and even who the best contacts are to ensure we lainch successfully.

This role is very perfomance and metrics driven; we have clear financial goals around our Wholesale channel and you will be the key owner in hitting these targets.

Your Role & Impact

  • Step into a function that is at the ground level...and build it.
  • Build our 1 and 3-year wholesale strategies. Which of our brands have the most opportunity, what retailers will we sell them to and when.
  • Tackle everything from building a team to evaluating 3PLs for supply chain efficiency to how our financials systems ingest POs from retailers and how our invoicing works.
  • Owning the in-store/on-site experience; visual merchandising, in-store promotions, demos, marketing campaigns.
  • Understand the macro environment of different retail channels; how do we best balance volume vs margin and brand experience vs broad distribution.
  • Have the ability to build a team of internal and external partners to successfully execute your business plan.
  • Build a detailed, monthly sales plan and P/L and work to hit both revenue and margin targets.

About You

  • Have a clear record of 15+ years of sales leadership success with a small cap, fast moving CPG company, preferably cleaning and/or personal care sectors. You need to have managed $100mm+ annul businesses.
  • Proven capability in building business, brands, customers, channels, and organizations in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Have deep selling experience, on a national level, via multiple channels; online, direct (DSD), broker/distributor
  • Have current connections at one or more national retailers in the home and personal care space (e.g. Target, Ulta, Whole Foods, Walmart)
  • Have a player/coach style. Able to lead and prioritize customers versus just react, while implementing appropriate levels of urgency.
  • Upgrade organizational capability and utilize resources in highly efficient manner.
  • Able to wear both hat of seasoned sales executive and general manager
  • Know how to work very collaboratively with cross-funcational partners on Grove's leadership team: product development, operations, marketing. social, PR.
