GHJ Search & Staffing is working with a growing, PE-backed construction services organization who is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team in Carson, CA. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this position will play a key role in leading month-end close activities, supporting multi-business-unit reporting, driving process improvements, and helping standardize accounting practices across a rapidly expanding organization.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Own month-end and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Manage balance sheet schedules and financial reporting
  • Support multi-entity accounting and consolidation activities
  • Analyze financial results and provide meaningful business insights
  • Partner with operational leaders to improve financial accountability
  • Drive automation and process improvement initiatives
  • Assist with audit, tax, and compliance requirements
  • Support job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition activities 

What They're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong GAAP knowledge
  • Experience owning month-end close
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Multi-entity or multi-business-unit experience
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

Preferred:

  • Construction industry experience
  • Job costing, WIP reporting, and Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting
  • Experience with construction ERP systems such as Spectrum, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, or Viewpoint
  • Audit or public accounting background
