The OSS team at GFiber is responsible for: building and maintaining software responsible for managing and monitoring the network, managing network resource inventory, detecting outages, handling incidents, collecting telemetry, doing service plan provisioning and more.

Role Description

We are looking for people that are passionate about solving engineering problems to help: enhance fault and outage management, customer connectivity monitoring, device telemetry collection and analysis to improve customer experience, build APIs for internal services to optimize workflows, and integrate new devices. 

What we are currently working on:

  •  Enabling the OSS ecosystem meet our reliability and performance standards.
  •  Adding necessary OSS features to enable our network engineering and operations teams efficient in managing and monitoring the network.
  •  Building troubleshooting tools.

In this role, you'll:

  • Build and launch the new GFiber OSS: feature development, service layer development, end-to-end integration.
  • Be responsible for development/configuration/troubleshooting/support on the OSS ecosystem.
  • Be a senior person to set direction for and coordinate work of other software engineers and system integrators.
  • Participate in joint troubleshooting sessions with multiple teams.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of combined experience in software engineering using Java/Kotlin and Python.
  • 3 years of experience driving complex projects as a techical lead.
  • 3 years of experience coordinating the execution of software projects across multiple teams: architecture, development, QA.

It's preferred if you have:

  • Experience creating and reviewing design for OSS transformational projects including: downstream and upstream integration, dual stack operation, rollout strategy.
  • Experience with software development within the Telecommunications / Internet Service Provider industry.
  • Proven ability to navigate and deliver projects in dynamic and sometimes unclear environments.
  • Experience with end-to-end application troubleshooting.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $184,800 - $203,300 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
