Over 90% of our users play games, spending a combined 1.5 billion hours playing thousands of unique titles on Discord each month. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games.

As we expand our presence in the gaming world, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Copywriter with deep roots in the gaming industry to join our in-house creative team. The Senior Copywriter will work closely with internal teams and external partners to help establish our B2B brand identity and strategy while fostering growth for Discord.

This role would report directly to one of our Creative Directors in the brand team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Partner with the Creative Director to drive the creative strategy for Discord’s B2B and developer marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall brand objectives and delivering campaigns that deeply engage with Discord audiences.
  • Conceptualize, develop, and execute innovative B2B creative campaigns that connect with Discord’s developer community.
  • Work closely with marketing, social, product, design, and other cross-functional teams to ensure a cohesive, creative direction that reflects the brand's goals and resonates with our audiences across multiple platforms.
  • Build a deep understanding of Discord’s developer community and create ideas that align with their interests, needs, and trends.
  • Help shape and evolve Discord’s B2B brand presence within the gaming industry, ensuring consistency across various touchpoints while maintaining the creative integrity of the brand.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including creative agencies, production companies, game developers, and influencers, to deliver creative strategies that elevate Discord’s presence in the B2B world.
  • Work with the Operations and Production teams to efficiently prioritize and manage multiple projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with top company priorities.

What you should have:

  • 10+ years of experience in creative copywriting with a proven track record leading successful award-winning creative campaigns from concept to execution (3-5+ years of experience on the B2B or developers audience).
  • A strong portfolio showcasing innovative and impactful B2B work for technology or gaming brands, including branding, digital, social media, video, events, and experiential projects.
  • Deep understanding of gaming culture and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and strong experience articulating a creative point of view to senior-level stakeholders.
  • Experience working with in-house teams and external partners, such as advertising agencies, production companies, and influencers.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to transform complex ideas into clear, engaging, creative strategies.

Bonus points:

  • Experience working with or in a gaming development studio.
  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of Discord’s role within the gaming and developer ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with the latest trends in gaming, digital media, and content creation.
  • Proficiency with creative tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Figma) and experience overseeing the production process.
  • Experience with Events.
