WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It’s at the core of why we do what we do at ALO—it’s our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That’s the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Senior Director of Data Engineering to lead our data engineering strategy and execution. This role will be responsible for building and scaling a modern data platform that supports business intelligence, personalization, supply chain optimization, and AI/ML initiatives across the organization.

  • Partner with business leaders, product managers, and data scientists to deliver data solutions that drive business impact.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming systems.
  • Establish best practices for data governance, quality, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Evaluate and implement modern data tools and platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, dbt).
  • Drive innovation in data architecture to support personalization, predictive analytics, and AI/ML capabilities.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure cost-effective use of third-party data services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 12+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience building and scaling cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Expertise in SQL, Python, Spark, and modern data stack tools.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and real-time data processing.
