Come help lead our growing engineering team as a Senior Engineering Manager on Bitbucket Cloud. You'll be part of an experienced team focused on operating and scaling the systems that enable millions of developers to build software using Bitbucket Cloud. Our mission is to empower teams to deliver software with agility and confidence.
Your focus will be to help hone the technical strategy and lead execution of our developer experience, working with teams to build next generation search and code navigation, and leverage Rovo (Atlassian's new AI search and agent platform).

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $206,100 - $269,075
Zone B: $186,300 - $243,225
Zone C: $171,900 - $224,425
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a distributed team of engineers (US-based), fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Build an open, trusting, operationally mature culture.
- Project Management: Own the delivery of critical projects in a high traffic environment, ensuring they are completed on time and meet quality standards. Be the engineering voice in our quarterly planning process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other departments to develop new features that improve developer experience.
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical leadership and make strategic decisions to improve Bitbucket Cloud systems. Hold a high bar for product quality and service reliability.
- Performance Management: Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to help team members grow professionally. Participate in hiring planning and other budgeting exercises
- Experience: 5+ years of managing software engineering teams, with a strong background in software engineering. Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably a Computer Science degree or equivalent experience)
- Technical Skills: Experience developing and operating high traffic web applications and services
- Leadership: Proven track record of coaching and mentoring engineers, with experience in recruiting and hiring. Demonstrated experience implementing dev-ops best practices.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with both technical and non-technical audiences.
