About Us:

Grow Therapy is on a mission to serve as the trusted partner for therapists growing their practice, and patients accessing high-quality care. Powered by technology, we are a three-sided marketplace that empowers providers, augments insurance payors, and serves patients. Following the mass increase in depression and anxiety, the need for accessibility is more important than ever. To make our vision for mental healthcare a reality, we’re building a team of entrepreneurs and mission-driven go-getters. Since launching in February 2021, we’ve empowered more than ten thousand therapists and hundreds of thousands of clients across the country and insurance landscape. We’ve raised more than $178mm of funding from Sequoia Capital, Transformation Capital, TCV, SignalFire, and others.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead Grow Therapy's Developer Experience team — the team that powers every product engineer at Grow. You'll own the core application frameworks, developer productivity tooling, and foundational reliability practices that enable product teams to ship high-quality code faster and with greater confidence. You'll be part of a remote-friendly engineering organization reporting directly to Engineering leadership, managing a team of engineers. This is a high-leverage role where your work directly amplifies the impact of every product team building the tools that serve Grow's providers and patients.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Define and evolve the Developer Experience roadmap, building an AI-native stack to drive measurable improvements in developer velocity (e.g., deployment frequency, cycle time) and platform reliability (e.g., incident frequency and time to recovery) across Grow's engineering organization.
  • Own and scale core application frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling that reduce cognitive load and cycle time for product engineers.
  • Establish and champion reliability practices — including SLOs, observability standards, and incident readiness — across engineering teams.
  • Partner closely with product engineers, Cloud Platform, Security, and Data Engineering to align on scalable, secure platform standards and continuously improve the developer experience.
  • Lead and grow a high-performing team of engineers, and actively execute on a hiring plan focused on developer productivity and reliability.
You'll Be a Good Fit If:
  • You have experience managing and scaling high-performing software engineering teams and have a strong background in backend systems, platform, or infrastructure-adjacent product engineering.
  • You've demonstrated an ability to measure and improve developer velocity through tooling, frameworks, or process changes — and you know how to make the case for this work cross-functionally.
  • You've balanced reliability, scalability, and speed in a fast-paced production environment, and you're comfortable owning standards and best practices at scale.
  • You're an excellent communicator and technical leader who can partner with both engineers and product leaders to align on priorities and drive outcomes.
  • Bonus: You have familiarity with reliability engineering, SLOs, and incident management practices, or prior experience in a high-growth product organization.
Role Details:
  • Employment Type: Full Time, Exempt
  • Base Compensation: $225,000–$300,000 USD Annually.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, with required in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday at our San Francisco. This role also includes travel 2–3 times per year for company and department offsites.

The base compensation for this role will vary depending on several factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, and the candidate’s working location.

Full Time Employee Benefits:

  • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus life and disability coverage.
  • Parental Leave & Family Support: Up to 18 weeks paid leave and a new child stipend.
  • Financial Wellness: 401(k) program and equity opportunities.
  • Meals & Home Office Support: Stipends for home office setup and ongoing funds for meals, with tailored perks for both remote and in-office employees.
  • Time Off to Recharge: Flexible PTO, 12 paid holidays, and a full winter break week.
  • Wellness & Development: Annual stipends to put towards personal & professional growth.
  • Mental & Physical Health Support: No-cost access to therapy through the Grow platform, weekly flexible hours for self-care (“Mental Health Mornings/Afternoons”) and memberships to leading wellness apps (such as One Medical, Headspace, and Talkspace).
  • Extra Perks: Pet insurance discounts, commuter benefits, and global travel assistance.

Research shows that some groups hesitate to apply unless they meet every qualification. If you’re excited about this role but don’t check every box, we encourage you to apply. At Grow, we value diverse experiences, transferable skills, and the unique strengths each person brings.
