As the Senior Manager, Business Systems, your primary responsibility is to take strategic ownership of Carbon's business systems portfolio. You will be responsible for managing our enterprise application landscape (including our core Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, Salesforce CRM and Quickbase platforms) to drive business efficiency and ease of use, and enable data accuracy. You will work closely with business leaders to identify, prioritize and execute system implementations, enhancements and fixes. You will lead and mentor our team of System Developers and Administrators, guiding their work in improving, maintaining and optimizing our platforms. You are Carbon’s expert on systems architecture and value. 

In addition to this core systems focus, you will act as a key partner to our Data & Analytics team. You will leverage your expertise to help bridge the gap between systems and data, and guide the data team to translate business requests into clear, well-defined, and manageable efforts. 

This role will be hybrid, 3 days onsite at our office in Redwood City, CA.

You will…Team Leadership & Operations
  • Lead, mentor, and manage our team of System Developers and Administrators based in Hyderabad, India. Bridge the functional & time zone gap between this team and the business users. 
  • Guide the team in day-to-day administration, support, and optimization of our core applications. 
  • Mentor your team members to understand the ‘why’ behind the work they are doing and facilitate their engagement with business teams.
  • Drive and support the collaborative culture within the team, and between the team in India, and business users across the globe.
  • Manage key software vendor relationships to ensure high-quality support and maximum value from our investments.
Business Systems Strategy & Architecture
  • Own the planning, development and optimization of Carbon’s core business systems, including Oracle Fusion Finance & Supply Chain modules, Salesforce CRM, and Quickbase. 
  • Continuously evaluate platforms for functional redundancies, cost-saving opportunities, and strategic value.
  • Develop and present business cases for new system investments, decommissioning projects, or major changes. 
  • Act as the primary business partner to leaders in various departments including Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, and HR, understanding their processes and ensuring our core platforms (Oracle, Salesforce, Quickbase) are meeting their needs.
  • Oversee the data integration landscape, ensuring our middleware (Dell Boomi) provides a reliable, efficient, and accurate flow of data between systems.
  • Actively research emerging technologies, AI advancements, and new platform features, championing their adoption to drive innovation and efficiency.
Data & Analytics Partnership
  • Partner with business stakeholders and the data team to translate business requests into clear, well-defined, and manageable requirements.
  • Partner with the data team to execute changes to business systems based on data and/or business requirements.  
  • Be a conduit between the business systems and data teams, ensuring that changes flow seamlessly between the two.
  • Be an advisor for data architecture decisions.
You have…
  • 7+ years in a business systems analysis, systems architecture, or systems management role.
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring a technical team, preferably in a global or remote setting.
  • Deep functional and architectural knowledge of Tier-1 ERP and CRM platforms. Experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud, Salesforce or Quickbase is a significant advantage.
  • Proven ability to analyze a complex systems portfolio and identify opportunities for consolidation, cost savings, and process improvement.
  • Strong, structured project management skills (experience with JIRA is a plus ).
  • A strong understanding of the data analytics lifecycle and the ability to effectively partner with technical data teams (Analysts, SQL Developers, Data Scientists).
  • Knowledge of integration platforms (iPaaS) like Dell Boomi, Mulesoft, or similar.
  • Experience with the evaluation or implementation of AI technologies is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, or a related field.

At Carbon, we look at the person holistically and carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining salary. The compensation bracket for this position is $202,400 - $303,600 per year. In order to maintain equitable internal pay practices, we aim to hire new employees near the midpoint of $253,000, taking into account your experience, work location, certifications, and the unique skills you bring to the role. If you are not based in our Redwood City office, the range above will be adjusted for the geographical differential associated with your actual work location.
