We are looking for a Senior Product Analyst with a strong background in using data to shape and inform product strategy. In this role, you will focus on measuring platform engagement, analyzing user behavior data, and generating insights that correlate learning platform usage with students’ motivation, engagement, and persistence. Familiarity with edtech, especially working with survey data, is a big plus. We need someone who is highly proficient in SQL (ideally with dbt) and Python, and can translate complex analytics findings into compelling stories that drive strategic decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and monitor key metrics around student engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes to guide product strategy and performance evaluation.
- Use statistical techniques (e.g., correlation, regression, hypothesis testing) to uncover relationships between product usage and student success, integrating survey data for richer insights.
- Build clear, automated dashboards and reports that provide real-time visibility into platform usage and educational impact.
- Collaborate with data engineering to design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines using SQL (preferably dbt), ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong documentation.
- Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Leadership to translate business goals into actionable data insights. Present findings through compelling narratives that inform product improvements and strategic decisions.
- Identify opportunities to enhance data analytics processes, and stay current on emerging tools and best practices—particularly those relevant to the edtech domain.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Professional Experience: 5+ years in analytics, data science, or a closely related role.
- Technical Proficiency:
- SQL expertise (dbt experience strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, scripting, and building predictive models.
- Metrics & KPIs: Proven track record of designing, implementing, and monitoring metrics to drive product decisions.
- Statistical Analysis: Strong grounding in quantitative methods, including experimental design, hypothesis testing, and correlation studies.
- Survey Data Integration: Ability to interpret and combine survey findings with product usage data for deeper insights.
- Communication & Storytelling: Exceptional skill in translating complex analytical outcomes into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Data Visualization: Familiarity with tools like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI to create clear, actionable insights.
- EdTech Experience (Preferred): Background in analyzing user engagement, motivation, or learning outcomes within education technology environments.
Additional Preferred Experience
- Experience with advanced analytics techniques (e.g., machine learning, clustering, predictive modeling).
- Understanding of data warehouse architectures, including cloud-based solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Prior experience with A/B testing frameworks for product experimentation.
Personal Attributes
- Detail-Oriented: You thrive on digging into data nuances and ensuring high data quality.
- Curious & Innovative: You love exploring new ways to mine data for insights and enjoy testing new analytics tools and techniques.
- Collaborative & Empathetic: You’re a team player who understands how to build partnerships across product, engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Self-Starter: You take initiative, work independently, and aren’t afraid to suggest bold ideas.
Why Join Us?
- Impactful Mission: Contribute to the success and motivation of learners worldwide by improving platform experiences and learning outcomes.
- Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a passionate, cross-functional team that values innovation and continuous improvement.
