At Underdog, we make sports more fun.

Our thesis is simple: build the best products and we’ll build the biggest company in the space, because there’s so much more to be built for sports fans. We’re just over five years in, and we’re one of the fastest-growing sports companies ever, most recently valued at $1.3B. And it’s still the early days.

We’ve built and scaled multiple games and products across fantasy sports, sports betting, and prediction markets, all united in one seamless, simple, easy to use, intuitive and fun app.

Underdog isn’t for everyone. One of our core values is give a sh*t. The people who win here are the ones who care, push, and perform. If that’s you, come join us.

Winning as an Underdog is more fun.

You’ll play a key role in driving engagement and retention through impactful, user-centered promotional experiences. Collaborating closely with partners in product, marketing, and analytics, you’ll help shape strategy, influence marketing efforts, and optimize the promotional journey for millions of sports fans.

About the role
  • Partner with product teams to explore and define new ways to reward fans for their play, including both promotions and non-monetary rewards.
  • Enhance the current experience by optimizing existing promotions and designing innovative new promotions and reward systems.
  • Define and deliver design solutions through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals that balance user needs with business objectives.
  • Participate in user research and data analysis, turning insights into actionable design improvements.
  • Work within and contribute to Underdog’s design system, refining patterns while knowing when to push boundaries for innovation.
  • Maintain a high standard of usability and accessibility to ensure our products are inclusive and user-friendly.
  • Collaborate with promo ops and marketing teams to ensure visual and brand consistency across external marketing channels and in-product experiences.
Who you are
  • 5+ years of experience in product design for native mobile products.
  • A detail-oriented designer who is eager to craft high-quality, intuitive experiences for customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to explore a range of design options and articulate trade-offs.
  • Presents a portfolio demonstrating process, learnings, and world-class execution on consumer-facing mobile products.
  • Passionate about Underdog’s mission and products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a growing ability to present work effectively to stakeholders.
  • Passionate about sports, gaming, and creating industry-leading digital experiences.
  • Expertise in modern design tooling.
Even better if you have
  • Experience in fantasy sports and/or sports betting.
  • Experience designing promotional programs.

Our target starting base salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $180,000, plus target equity. The starting base salary will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s skills and experience, among other things.

What we can offer you:
  • Unlimited PTO (we're extremely flexible with the exception of the first few weeks before & into the NFL season)
  • 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave
  • Home office stipend
  • A connected virtual first culture with a highly engaged distributed workforce
  • 5% 401k match, FSA, company paid health, dental, vision plan options for employees and dependents
