You are a specialist and developer educator who goes deep into execution within your domain, delivering precise, technically strong contributions that build trust through mastery and clarity. You write with empathy for developers and technical users, anticipating pain points and surfacing timely, actionable guidance. As a content developer, you enhance the developer experience through code examples, tutorials, and practical guides. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to ensure accuracy, clarity, and an optimal user experience, and may also contribute to Ververica Academy to help customers maximize the value of our products and services.

Responsibilities
  • Research, write, and maintain high-quality documentation for developers, architects, and operators using Ververica products and Apache Flink.
  • Produce content that improves the developer experience, including code samples, tutorials, troubleshooting guides, and conceptual overviews.
  • Translate complex, distributed-systems concepts into clear, actionable guidance for technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams during the design and development process to capture accurate, timely information.
  • Maintain consistent style, tone, and terminology across documentation, working with the Docs Lead to enforce standards.
  • Anticipate user pain points and proactively create content that removes friction in onboarding, integration, and scaling.
  • Review and edit content contributed by engineers, solutions architects, and community members to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Engage with the developer community by gathering feedback, participating in forums, webinars, and events, and using these insights to improve documentation and educational resources.
  • Support training and enablement efforts by contributing to Ververica Academy content when needed.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a technical writer, developer advocate, or similar role creating developer-facing content.
  • Strong understanding of software development concepts, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Ability to write accurate, clear, and concise documentation, tutorials, and reference materials.
  • Proficiency in creating content that includes code samples, diagrams, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to write in clear, idiomatic American English for a global technical audience.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams.
  • Familiarity with modern documentation tooling, version control systems, and content management workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Apache Flink® or similar stream-processing technologies.
  • Experience writing about cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, and DevOps workflows.
  • Background in software engineering or computer science.
  • Experience with open-source communities and contribution workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience with structured writing, and code-based authoring tools like Docusaurus, Github, and Markdown
