About FurtherAI

At FurtherAI, we’re building the next generation of AI agents for the insurance industry - a trillion-dollar market ready for transformation.

We’ve raised more than $30M from top investors (Andreesen Horowitz, YC, Nexus, South Park Commons, Converge) and have grown 10x in revenue this year alone. Our customers include some of the largest names in insurance (we recently closed a top 5 insurance company in the world), and our team combines deep AI expertise with proven company-building experience.

Now, we’re looking for an exceptional Software/AI Engineer (New Grad) to join our early team and help shape both our product and culture.
About the Role

We’re looking for a Software / AI Engineer (New Grad) to join our engineering team and help build the foundation of FurtherAI’s AI Workspace for Insurance.

In this role, you’ll work on end-to-end product features spanning AI model integration, data processing pipelines, and scalable backend systems. You’ll collaborate closely with senior engineers, AI researchers, and founders to bring real-world insurance workflows to life — transforming how underwriters, claims adjusters, and brokers get work done.

This is a rare opportunity to join a technical, high-performing early team and grow quickly alongside the company.
Why Join FurtherAI?

High Impact: Work on technology that’s redefining how AI powers the modern insurance enterprise.

Hands-On Learning: Collaborate directly with senior engineers, AI scientists, and founders building real applied AI.

Mission-Driven: Help modernize one of the world’s most complex industries with practical, explainable AI.

Early Team: Gain full visibility into product, research, and customer impact — shaping the foundation of our AI Workspace for Insurance as we scale.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and deploy production-level code across our backend and AI systems.

  • Collaborate with AI researchers to integrate and optimize large language models for insurance workflows.

  • Build data processing and evaluation pipelines for unstructured document inputs (PDFs, emails, images).

  • Contribute to core infrastructure, from APIs to orchestration logic powering our AI Workspace for Insurance.

  • Work cross-functionally with product and customer teams to identify and solve real business problems with AI.

  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and rapid iteration cycles.

You Might Be a Fit if You:

  • Are a recent CS, EE, or related STEM graduate (Bachelor’s or Master’s) with a strong foundation in software engineering.

  • Have hands-on experience with Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar modern languages.

  • Understand or are excited to learn about large language models (LLMs), NLP, or applied AI systems.

  • Are curious, resourceful, and comfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

  • Want to see your code drive visible impact in the real world — not just in research.

Bonus:

  • Previous internship or project experience in AI/ML or full-stack development.

  • Experience working with frameworks like PyTorch, LangChain, or FastAPI.

  • Interest in insurance, fintech, or other regulated industries.

Tech Stack - Python, FastAPI, TypeScript, Next.js, React, PostgreSQL, AWS, LangChain, OpenAI API

Compensation and Benefits

  • Fully covered, best-in-class health, dental, and vision benefits

  • Competitive Compensation, meaningful stock options, company 401(k)

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Outstanding in-office culture in the heart of San Francisco

  • Lunch and dinner onsite

  • Team events, such as happy hours and off-sites

  • Pre-tax Commuter benefits
