As the Solution Architect - Big Data, you will lead the design and implementation of modern data platforms, analytics environments, and data integration architectures for federal clients. You will serve as a technical leader across pre-sales, delivery, and innovation efforts—partnering with Capability Leads, client stakeholders, and delivery teams to bring data-driven solutions to life.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Delivery

• Design end-to-end big data architectures across cloud and on-prem environments, including data lakes, pipelines, warehouses, and analytics platforms.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and sustainable technical solutions.
• Guide the selection and implementation of modern data tools (e.g., Spark, Databricks, Kafka, Delta Lake, Apache NiFi, etc.).
• Lead architecture reviews, data governance strategy, and performance optimization.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a trusted advisor to government clients on data modernization strategies.
• Communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders clearly and persuasively.
• Support delivery teams in resolving complex data integration and transformation challenges.

Collaboration & Leadership

• Collaborate closely with Capability Leads, Delivery Managers, and Engineers to ensure solution alignment and technical excellence.
• Support proposal development, whitepapers, and R&D efforts under Navaide’s innovation initiatives (e.g., Spark Labs).
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications

Required:

• 7+ years of experience architecting and implementing big data solutions in complex environments.
• Hands-on expertise in at least three of the following: Spark, Kafka, Databricks, Hadoop, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Apache NiFi, Delta Lake.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance principles.
• Experience working with federal agencies or large-scale enterprise data environments.
• Ability to lead technical engagements and present solutions to executive stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred:

• Experience with DoD or Navy-specific data systems or environments.
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP, NIST).
• SAFe, AWS, Azure, or Snowflake certifications.
• Experience integrating big data platforms with AI/ML toolchains and predictive analytics.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or advanced certifications are preferred.
