About the role

Crunchyroll Games hold a special significance for our fans, serving as a vibrant gateway to immersive experiences deeply rooted in beloved anime worlds. With each game, fans are transported into captivating narratives and given the opportunity to interact firsthand with their favorite characters and settings. 

Our games need to integrate our SDK to get access to the Crunchyroll platform so our customers can use them by logging into our service and enjoy various benefits. Over time, Crunchyroll will build the best anime game experiences and our SDK will provide game developers with features to make amazing experiences.

The Partner Technology team is looking for an iOS Mobile Engineer to work with mobile developers on the integration of our mobile SDK into the major mobile platforms. We are looking for engineers that know how to build scalable solutions and can work with all partners to make that happen.

You will:

  • Drive successful integration of Crunchyroll features across a growing portfolio of game partners and titles.
  • Help define, build, and evolve the Games SDK and developer platform to support a growing number of partner integrations.
  • Support game partners through validation, acceptance testing, and scalable onboarding processes.
  • Ensure seamless update experiences across all Crunchyroll games and partner titles.
  • Build relationships internally and externally with stakeholders to enable scalable collaboration.
  • Continuously improve services, tools, and processes to support an expanding set of partners and games.
  • Provide efficient, scalable partner support across a growing number of external game developers.
  • Proactively resolve in-field issues to ensure a high-quality, consistent gaming experience at scale.
  • Develop and streamline the game publishing workflow to app stores.

In the role of Staff iOS Games Integration Engineer, you will report to the Senior Director, Partners Services and Tools. We are considering applicants for the location of Dallas, Los Angeles, or San Francisco.

About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • You have 12+ years of iOS mobile game development, focusing on backend API integration, mobile graphics, security, and game engines (Unity and/or Unreal).
  • You have led the design, implementation, and integration of SDKs into mobile games.
  • You have delivered multiple successful projects across the full development lifecycle.
  • You have supported external game partners with technical communication and in-field issue resolution.
  • You have experience in Swift and Objective-C development, including iOS libraries and frameworks (UIKit, CoreData, CoreAnimation).
  • You have experience with backend API development and integration following standards such as OpenAPI (Swagger), RESTful API, gRPC.
  • You have experience with mobile app security and secure data handling best practices; automated iOS app store deployment, CI/CD workflows, and release management.
  • Data-driven analysis to optimize user experience, quality, and performance.
  • You have game engine expertise with Unity, Unreal Engine, and iOS-native frameworks (SpriteKit, SceneKit, Metal, or ARKit).

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
