Role

We are looking for a data and backend-oriented Staff Software Engineer to help us advance our clinical AI by designing and building core systems that handle, process, and analyze clinical data at scale. The ideal candidate for this role has a track record of delivering complex features in incrementally valuable releases and with a high bar for quality. While this role focuses on backend systems, strong candidates are able to deliver across the stack.

**This role is fully remote within the US**

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build and launch new data products, capabilities and data pipelines
  • Develop and maintain streaming and ingestion capabilities using technologies like Kafka, NATS, and SQS to ensure reliable data movement
  • Partner with other engineering and data teams to provide foundational backend and data infrastructure that accelerates their ability to deliver features and insights
  • Build scalable and secure for accessing clinical data at scale
  • Optimize and evolve our platform capabilities (e.g., event bus, ingestion frameworks, data storage patterns) to support future product growth
  • Contribute to engineering standards, system design reviews, and best practices around eventing, pipelines, and cloud-native systems

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of development experience with a focus on cloud-based solutions
  • Expertise in Python
  • Experience working with data platform solutions such as Snowflake, DataBricks, Redshift, or ClickHouse
  • Experience working with Postgres or a similar relational database
  • Hands-on experience with eventing solutions such as Kafka, NATS, or SQS
  • Experience building cloud-native distributed systems and working with event-driven architectures
  • Experience with data-pipelines
  • Experience working with Kubernetes
  • Experience working with product managers to plan, build, and iterate on deliverables
  • Experience working in a security-conscious environment
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data ingestion and integration tools (e.g., Fivetran, Airbyte, Debezium).
  • Experience managing data capabilities for engineering teams (e.g., eventbus, ingestion)
  • Deep understanding of Kafka/Snowflake 
  • Experience at a scale-up, or rapid growth, technology company 
  • Experience in the health tech domain, particularly in hospital billing systems

Compensation

  • $230K to $270K base salary + equity incentives
