What the Role Is

As a Staff Software Engineer on the Registry team at Babylist, you will be at the heart of transforming how expectant parents create and manage their registries. Leveraging your deep Ruby on Rails expertise, you will drive the modernization of our platform, enhancing features such as checklists, wishlists, and product offers to meet the evolving needs of our users. You’ll lead the revamp of our user experience, making it simpler and more engaging for parents to manage and organize their registries.

Who You Are

  • You’re a seasoned software engineer with over 8 years of experience in software development.
  • You have at least 2 years of experience in a Staff or equivalent senior engineering role.
  • You're an expert in Ruby on Rails, comfortable tackling complex problems and delivering robust solutions.
  • You're passionate about creating user-centric applications.
  • You have a proven track record of delivering high-quality, impactful projects.
  • You're adept at navigating complex technical challenges.
  • You're a mentor and coach who fosters a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • You're collaborative, working effectively with designers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
  • You're results-oriented, with a keen ability to prioritize tasks that deliver the most business impact.

  • Implement a new design system and modernize our codebase to ensure the platform remains intuitive, reliable, and delightful

Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills, qualifications, experience, and work location.

The estimated pay range for this role is $159,360.00 - $239,040.00

In addition, Babylist offers equity, bonus, and benefits, including company paid health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, flexible spending account, and paid leave (including PTO and parental leave) in accordance with our applicable plans and policies.
